Anyone else depressed? so tired of planning

Rachey, on March 30, 2014 at 4:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

I still have a lot of planning to do and find myself at a standstill. I haven't' exercised in a while and can't seem to force myself to the gym. I just feel down…details are getting to me. Mulling over favors, wedding shoes and earrings. I am looking forward to feeling normal again. I wish I had a wedding planner to hand the reins over to, so I could run. Smiley winking

I have been, but I think its more work related. I just want to be married.

I hated planning it - I was on my own for most of the decisions (I didn't have a planner also). And I am so happy that it's over. I feel like I can relax again!

This feeling comes and goes for me. I was feeling it this morning and I was letting the shoes really stress me out. But now I'm back in the "let's plan" phase.

    I also don't have a planner.

I felt that way a few months ago when everything just seemed crazy and expensive and overwhelming. Now that we're 5 days out (!!!!!!!!!!!) it's been much more exciting and I feel less like I want to punch someone.

I'm so ready for this to be over. It seems money is running out faster than I can allocated it. It's even more depressing for me as I didn't want a wedding to begin with.

I'm ready of the planning to be over also! I'm suppose to be working on the smaller details and going to the gym but don't have the energy to. Only a few more weeks left till life is back to normal.

Been there, done that, got a t-shirt, Lol! Everything is finally coming to a head after 15 months of planning. Honestly, if I could do it over again I would have lobbied for a shorter engagement. It's almost like the more time you have to plan, the more time you have to go insane.

I'm just happy that we're 27 days out and will be back to normal by May.

@NewLife84 - I absolutely get where you're coming from. I cried and begged to elope, but FH folded under the pressure coming from his side of the fam. It doesn't help that we're the 1st ones on both sides of the family to marry (such a big deal).

You're hilarious Allison, lol! I'm sure I'll feel the same.

Thanks ladies I figured I must not be the only one. I feel accomplished today after all, ordered my earrings, sand ceremony set, and flower girls bracelet. Which took all of five seconds to order but dayyyysss of looking haha. Also FORCED myself to go on a two mile walk. I think posting about it actually motivated me to get out of this slump!

Ive been feeling the exact same way lately. Especially since everyone in my family seems more concerned with themselves and it seems they can care less about my wedding. I know they are never going to be as excited as me but I would think they might at least ask me about it every once in a while. The planning isn't that fun anymore. Right now we are 50/50 if we just want to elope but then we lose so much money for what we already did. I just can't wait to be married!

I wish something would give me a positive boost! Any advice?

I have the big stuff out of the way, like venues and catering with the venue. Musician for ceremony and officiant, found a dress yesterday and have ideas for centerpieces and flowers and much of the stuff bought already. Looking for photographer and videographer and DJ at present. Candy buffet (jars from craigslist) is our favors. Honestly this has been fun and distracting from the life I lead. Dad is fighting cancer, brother has broken part of his hand...etc etc.

More stressed then anything but not with wedding planning. It's more of do i rent the house or sell it (the chicago market tanking and slowing moving up); stress of moving my stuff over to the FH (lived in my condo for 11 years); why did I agree to sit on all these boards and have 2-3 hour meetings a week that cuts out any time I did have to work out. I have caused my own stress.

I'm enjoying the parts that don't really involve money, like making the decorations. Anything that involves money makes me want to cry in a corner. That and my family - ugh.

Stop for a while. Seriously. Give yourself (and your FH) some time off. No one is going to notice if you don't have cute signs, programs or a wealth of other things that drive you nuts and make you crabby. They'll live without OOT bags, ladies room baskets, and everything else that's left (well, most of what's left...) Cut yourself a break!!! You'll be just as married at the end!

Ditto NewLife84... FH wanted a wedding, I did not. At least once a week I have a meltdown that involves me regretting not putting my foot down about not having a wedding. Oh well, he is excited.

OP, you're getting really close! You can do it. Smiley smile
