Anyone do a Unity Ceremony without candles, braids or sand?

We are doing a blended family padlock ceremony. I got a set off of ebay.

Im not sure if it falls into the braids category, but we are doing a variation on a handfasting. I find it meaningful because the hands are literally and symbolically important in a marriage

Glass frit or salt or decorative glass beads instead of sand; water a potted plant or tree.

Check Offbeat Bride and A Practical Wedding. Both have several articles listing non-traditional unity ceremonies. We're doing a handfasting, but we looked at Unity in Glass as another option.

Thanks for the suggested so far. The unity glass peices are especially gorgeous! A little (alot lol) too expensive though.

We're doing a 'marriage box', putting a copy of our vows (and maybe love letters) in a box that we'll continue to add things in throughout our marriage. We're also using it as a guest book by asking guests to write a short note to is that we'll add to it (to symbolize the support our relationship has from our friends and family)
