Anyone ditching the traditional sleeping arrangement?

I am not superstitious, and I'm putting my dress on at the venue, anyway, so there will still be "surprise" for him with that part. Is it weird to not want to kick him out of our hotel room for the morning? I envision us driving to the venue together and then finishing getting ready there, separately.

Even out of state, I think it’s so much more important to get a good night’s sleep, however that happens! My best friend had all of her bridesmaids stay with her in a suite she got for us. It was a rough night though because everyone’s sleeping patterns were so different. So I decided I’ll just hang out alone lol.

My husband and I both sleep worse without the other, and never intended to sleep separately the night before the wedding. Why would I want to lead up to that day with a restless night's sleep?

Do whatever works best for you both.

We slept together the night before and he was with me in the morning until I got ready. Traditions are optional anymore lol

I would be too nervous and not sleep if we were separate Smiley xd I think I'll just have him move over to his parent's or cousin's hotel room when it's time for me to start with hair and makeup.

Thanks, Jai! I talked to FH about it when he woke up (he's on the other side of the state in a semi til Friday) and he's completely fine with skipping this particular tradition 😊😊😊

That's a good plan, too 😊😊😊 we both have anxiety, but different triggers and are really good at helping eachother calm down. I'm trying not to be a control freak for the wedding, so I expect to be a ball of nerves and I know he'll be able to ease my worrying ❤

You're welcome! And that's cool! We skipped other traditions too lol. We did a first look, we wrote our own vows, and we drove together to our ceremony site.

DH and I lived together for roughly 2 years before we got married, but decided to sleep apart the night before the wedding. We can both be kind of superstitious.

We both ended up thinking it was a good idea, because we got to spend the mornings with our families, and then had the excitement of seeing each other as I walked down the aisle.

That said - it's your wedding! You do what you want! If you would rather spend the morning with him, then do that. That sounds romantic and cosy, to be honest!

We plan on sleeping together at home the night before then will go our separate ways that morning. We are having a late afternoon/evening wedding so we would like to see each other to start the busy day.

Makes perfect sense Smiley smile FH is now saying we should rent a limo to get he and I from the hotel to the venue and back...he's 100% onboard with my plan, thankfully Smiley laugh I don't sleep well without him next to me! Smiley shame

We are going an hour and a half up north for the wedding and are splitting an Air BnB with our bridesmaids. I can’t sleep well if we’re apart so we are spending the night together and then she will have the top floor while I have the bottom floor to get ready. We will drive in separate cars and then do a first look (:
