Any suggestions of buying Bridesmaid dresses online?

jessica, on January 10, 2013 at 10:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Greetings Ladies! The following are 2 websites that my close friends have had GREAT success with getting Levcoff, etc bridesmaid dresses at great prices. I thought it couldn't hurt to reach out to all of you to gain your thoughts. I'm looking for Light Gray, Floor Length Chiffon dresses. Thank you in advance for your feedback! http://www.netbride.com/wedding/ and http://www.bridesmaids.com/

Jessica a. I have not used these websites but my bridesmaids are wearing a Lovcoff dress also. Thanks for sharing these websites. I am going to check them out. Also, I bought a bridesmaids dress online when I was in my sister's wedding and it worked out great. I would just triple check measurements before ordering cause that was the only issue we ran into.

Bridesmaids.com seems to be a legitimate website -- they list a US address and a phone number. Netbride looks a little more iffy. Still, I'd be wary about buying something without trying it on first... can't give more help beyond that, just be careful, do your research, and best of luck!

Another good one is www.thewasonline.com. They are legit, with a bricks & mortar store in Phoenix, though most of their business is done online. My MOH and I have had great luck there. They carry a lot of designers, and online prices are great!

Thank you everyone. Unfortunately Targets dress us unavailable in sizes 2-10! David's bridal has NO Grey floor length chiffon dresses, only knee length. I just didn't want them to spend too much $$. Thank u ladies!

@Jessica, my girls got their dresses from Target and the same issue came up -- the sizes two of my girls needed were unavailable for a while, but they do come back into stock. One of my bridesmaids and I both checked every other day or so for about a month until they came back in. When they ordered, they shipped quickly, each girl got it in about a week, so since you have some time before the wedding, don't rule them out just yet. Smiley smile

Oh, and ignore Kyle's post above mine, that's a Chinese knock off site.

My girls are wearing grey chiffon dresses by Bari Jay. They ordered them online from houseofbrides.com and weddingshoppeinc.com. Both are listed as authorized retailers on the Bari Jay website and have US addresses and phone numbers. My girls had good things about the customer service they received.

I think it will be fine as long as the website is reputable and the bridesmaids made sure that their measurements are REALLY correct.

We used weddingtonway and no complaints yet! Dresses have arrived and, for the most part, fit.

When I first looked at my target dress, they didn't have a bunch of the sizes. Then I looked on there like 2 weeks later and ALL the sizes were stocked again! Have you picked your dresses yet? If not, you could check there again if you want to see if the sizes are back.

I bought my bridesmaid dress on http://www.dazzlebride.com, and had a great experience. The most important when you choose a website is are you able to trust them (in terms of quality, service and will they take responsibility if they mess up). I found out that http://www.dazzlebride.com is located in china but owned by a Swiss and has good comments on their service and quality. I would definitely recommend them rather than taking the risk with scam websites.

Avoid adoringdresses like the plague. If you read the reviews, they are forged. Any time I see perfect 5 star reviews with matching horrible English, I see red flags flying wildly. I am in dire need of finding an AFFORDABLE dress in a short period of time and don't have faith in the dress manufacturers originating from China as they create their dresses for tiny people...not the ones in our wedding. There was another company called azazie that imported these dresses and would cut them and tailor them to fit, but they are so new and are operating out of a TV repair place in California right now. I don't trust them. Any updates? Please share!

I got mine at bridesmaids.com and they are completely legit. They get the dresses direct from the manufacturer...no factory in the back or in china. They are NYC based. One of my bridemaids picked up her dress in store, the others out of state had them shipped. Customer service was great as well. I'd recommend them.

My girlfriend got her bridesmaid dresses online and they were beautiful. I was one of the bridesmaids. The site was www.simplyfabdress.com they're base in Florida. The price was only $110 and the dresses were great quality.

Avoid lalamira.com!!!! The dress that I got was the wrong size even though I used their measurement chart online. When I contacted them to see what they could do, they refused to exchange the dress and after a lot of fighting with them I was only able to get a 25% refund. I then had to get it tailored and the $100 dress ended up being a total of $300 with tailoring to get it to the right size. When I went to the tailor she said the hem was lopsided. So I spent $300 on a shoddily made dress. I will NEVER use this company again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Anyone looking into using this site to purchase dresses, SHOULD NOT WASTE THEIR TIME AND MONEY. You’re getting an item that is poorly made, shades darker or lighter than the color you desired, sizes that are “an inch” too big or too small (quotes around inch because that’s what their website describes for sizing). You have to read their policy for returns -> which is ridiculous because there’s disclaimers for their products that isn’t listed for the product itself (you’ll have to find it on their site somewhere) Their customer service will tell you you’re in the wrong real quick.

“We have checked and we are very sure that we did the dress in ivory. When you are shopping online, it is common that there will b some colour difference.

And we are very sure that we did the right size dress in your order. You have made a mistake when you choose the size. The dress is inspected carefully before shipped and it has no problems.

So in this case, we cannot take back the dress since made in the correct way.”

When should you ever tell a customer that they’re wrong!!!??! Never. You always phrase it to be cordial. Not blatantly say you’ve made a mistake and then refuse to offer additional supports. Literally a waste of time and money to be going back and forth with them.

Defintely a ZERO STAR website. They’re the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever been “helped by.” Its not worth stressing about for your big day.
