I would love some advice my wedding is in 15 months, I work full time, and am taking college course online. Any advice?

You can do this! I worked (and still do) full time 90 minutes each way from our house and I'm in Seminary full time, so I understand your struggle. If there's anything I can suggest, it's to let the little things go and once you make a decision, don't debate it any more. There are so many ways you can let a wedding take over your life, and when you have two important life things going on plus maintaining your relationships with FS, family, and friends, you have to keep a balance. If DIY stuff stresses you out, just don't do it. Your guests will find the ceremony space and the bar just fine without signs. Pick fantastic vendors you trust so you don't feel the need to micromanage. The only thing I hand-held was my ceremony (pastors tend to do that).

Oh! And let your professors know at the beginning of the semester when you're getting married. Review the syllabus as soon as you get it and make sure you don't have any major due dates two weeks before or after the wedding. If you do, ask if you can turn stuff in early or late. The two weeks before are nerve wracking and you really need at least a week after to recover. I went back to work the Tuesday after we got married, but I'm so glad I had turned in my midterm paper early so I didn't have to worry about it that week!

I'm in a part-time graduate program, but I'm thinking of taking a semester off because I just got a new job that starts in September, and we're hoping to buy a house that's an hour drive from said job. (I got a great job in the city that we're planning on moving OUT of! Go figure.)

I was in pharmacy school while planning our wedding. We hired a wedding planner and she was worth every penny. If it's in your budget I definitely recommend it.

Getting my PhD, a part time job, and planning a wedding across the country. I had some time off from school so went home for about 2 weeks and got a decent chunk planned. I'm a planner so I've got lists of things to do and when so it won't be a huge hassle all at once. Oh, wedding is next sept.

I'm a full time college student and also a stay at home mom. While I'm not as busy as someone going to school and working at the same time, my little one definitely keeps me busy!

For me personally, the key was to keep planning fun. If anything stressed me out, I stepped away from it for a couple days. I really enjoy wedding planning, so for me it was something fun to do once homework was done and baby's in bed. I actually looked forward to it. Remember that this is a fun time in your life--try not to dwell on every single tiny detail (especially ones we can't control) and enjoy the process :-)

I'm getting my PhD and am getting ready to start my internship now. We had a long engagement so that I could budget time for planning, school, work, and family without loosing my sanity! Agree with PPs. Break your planning into small chunks so it doesn't feel as overwhelming. If you can afford a wedding planner, I think that would make things a lot easier. It wasn't in the budget for us, but you can still get it done without! Happy Planning & good luck with school!

I am working full time and going to school online full time and I have a 4 year old! I took this summer off of school to really get things done especially since we are getting down to the wire now. I really had to remember though that school needs to take more priority over wedding planning. I am just nervous now about the week of the wedding and keeping up with assignments then!

I'm in nursing school and planning a wedding. It gets hard sometimes but I have a wedding planner and timeline and that really helps.

I have been in grad school, online, since I got engaged. I am just about to finish and I get married in October. What I have tried to do is use the breaks I have between semesters to do as much as possible. We also did some things way ahead of when the say you should do them because for us it was just easier with our busy schedules. We did a lot of planning and getting vendors about a year out, since that was the most important thing. All the little things I do as time allows. Don't get overwhelmed and ask for help when you need it. Do little things in between studying, makes for a great study break to look at wedding stuff. Smiley smile

I'm a litigation attorney and sponsored triathlete. I leave for court around 7am and finish work around 6pm, work most Saturday's, and do 15+ hours of training a week on top of it. I recommend picking a semi-inclusive venue with packages. That way, you just buy a package and select small add-ons. That's what we did with the ceremony and it's saving me a lot of time and stress knowing that I don't have to personally obtain an officiant, chairs, decorations, flowers, coordinator, etc.

Yes. I am currently in nursing school. I also work full time and have a part time job for tuition money. You have some time, so my advise is to make a list of everything you need to do, with a loose timeline. During breaks try to tackle one of two things. We're about 6 months out now and I have almost all of my big ticket items taken care of and we're focusing on the details - like getting the addresses for everyone together. It's manageable. Just take it one day at a time and don't overburden yourself!

You can definitely do it! Just remember that a grade in a class or a detail to a wedding is never more important that your health. Take care of yourself!

Yes! Also working full time and working on my Master's online. It can be overwhelming thinking about all you have to do. Just know it is okay to take breaks and don't be afraid to ask for help!

I'm in nursing school too Smiley smile I'm finishing up in December and working part time. I have an all inclusive venue which has been very helpful. My wedding is still quite a way out but I haven't had any stress. I work on things when I need a break from school and it's actually been a nice distraction when I need it. Focus on school. Personally for me school is more important than my wedding...so just keep focused on school!

I work till time and will be starting my master's in the fall. Three nights of classes each week! I'm trying to book/plan as much as possible over the summer. I have my venue. My DJ. (Kinda but that's another story), and hopefully booking a photographer next week.

So I just graduated last month with my Masters degree (full-time), worked part time and am getting married in 1 month. I hired a wedding planner - I knew there was NO way I could do it all on my own.

Plan a little at a time but stay consistent with it. I'm in school full time with a full time job as well as FH so our wedding takes a backseat to a lot of things. But I focused on big things like dress, caterer, venue...I'm planning on taking half a semester around my wedding to get little things done.
