Both my sister and my mother got married in Antigua and absolutely loved it! The pictures and video they have are beautiful.

I am happy to hear that. I have never visited Antigua, however the island is captivating. I am attending a wedding in Jamaica this year so I chose someplace different.

Hey twinzy! You’re doing quite well with planning your wedding. We booked the new Royalton Antigua, however I haven’t had the opportunity to put everything in place. They are still organizing a few things. I hope to catch up soon 😊

We have been eyeing Antigua as well! With the hopes of possibly booking the Royalton for a November 2020 wedding. How has your experience been with them so far? Are you working with a travel agent or directly with the resort?

That’s so exciting and great to hear! We’re in the early stages of reaching out to them to receive pricing for our guests, and the mixed reviews I’ve seen online had me nervous! Awesome to hear about your experience! Post some pics if you get a chance! Enjoy your trip!!

How was your trip? Was the resort everything you were hoping for? We booked our date and are officially set for November 2020. We are going down in January for a site visit and to pick our locations for ceremony and reception. Have you chosen yours?

Hello Nicola, the trip was amazing. I will point out that after day 2, the level of service went from a 5 star to a 2. I am still planning on having my wedding at Royalton, and communicate weekly w my planner and someone in management to see what changes are being incorporated to fix the issues myself and other guest have been experiencing. I booked the terrace for both ceremony and reception. Since there is a $1500 That will be imposed separately for both locations, I am thinking about moving my ceremony to the gazebo. My issue is having strangers crowded around my ceremony. It’s very disturbing watching videos and seeing bystanders in the background. No privacy. The water is gorgeous, the food is amazing and the property is breath taking. They did run out of a lot of drinks while we were on property and menu items. I’ve already begun planning my wedding 15mths ago lol.

We had to postpone our wedding so we decided to get married on our scheduled Honeymoon in Antigua and have the renewal/reception next summer. We have been back from Antigua for 1 week. We stayed at the Sandals resort and the wedding was the best part of our stay. We met with the wedding planner the day after we got there, viewed the venue, tasted cake, she made all our dinner reservations for the duration of our stay, and she made my hair appointment. The next day was the wedding and it was perfect. They are with you every step of the way. After the ceremony you have your first dance, cut the cake, toast champagne, and then have some finger foods. Next you go with a photographer and take many pictures. I would suggest getting the video as well. worth it. We still had 3 days after the wedding so still felt like we had a honeymoon as well. Hope that helps..good luck!
