An Alternative to "Here Comes The Bride"

Chelsea, on July 22, 2011 at 7:45 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 31

So i am trying to think of an alternative to "here comes the bride", and so far havent come up with much. But i am considering "No Air" by jordan sparks and chris brown. Does anyone think i should scratch that off my list, because it is about being apart but at the same time the song is very beautiful. Help Please!!!!!

I haven't heard the song, I'll have to listen to it later. But I'm doing "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by Franki Valli

I think the song is really pretty too, but it is a song about being WITHOUT someone :/

I love that video Michelle! I would love to do something like that as well.

"I can't help falling in love with you" is a classic love song! I am considering doing that (played on a harp) for my intro. Haven't decided yet though!

Also, "What a Wonderful World", "Halo" (Beyonce), and there's a WW list...

    Good luck!

My daughter walked down the aisle to the Michael Jackson song, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You."

I'm planning on having the instrumental of Beyonce's Halo as I walk down the aisle, not only am I a huge Beyonce fan but its just such a perfect song. Def don't be afraid to shake it up and change things to what you want!

I am walking down to Collin Raye's "All My Roads". FH and I have had pretty tough lives and this song fits perfectly for us.

Pachelbel's "canon inD" is BEAUTIFUL and a more traditional alternative to the bridal march.

Random Trivia - The traditional Bridal March is actually part of an opera where the new husband goes nuts and kills all the wedding guests Smiley smile

I think you could pick almost any instrumental song. Find a song you love...I'm sure they have No Air.

Are you having a DJ handle your ceremony music or a musician?

No need to make it instrumental. One of my long time friends, who is a professional singer, sang the MJ song at my daughters wedding. She also sang Etta James, "At Last" as they walked back up the aisle (one year ago this Sunday).

Yes we'r having a DJ for the ceremony. I was thinking maybe having the wedding party walk to one song, not really sure which yet, and then when i walk have the intro to "No Air" since the intro is really pretty.

Oo I also like "Everything" by Michael Buble.... I think that is really sweet... but maybe more for when everyone is exiting... but I would consider it for when i walked down the aisle too lol there are so many good ones, it's hard to pick!

AND I know it's another cliche one but I LOVE Big and Rich "Lost in this moment".. ugh... I am on youtube right now crying like a baby lol

I think the majority of brides today choose a song that is personal to them. Pick a song that you love.
