American Legion Wedding to save $$$ but need outside vendor suggestions please!!! ( Long Island)

Hi Ladies,

My fiance and I have been trying to figure out this wedding thing for over a year! We looked at few different locations and have come to the conclusion that it is more important to us to buy a house than to spend $$$ on a wedding. We actually found an American Legion that is really nice and I really didn't expect that! It's 16/pp for unlimited soda, juices, wines and hard liquor, so now I need to find an outside caterer. We wanted to have some Italian and West Indian food.... any suggestions??... we live on long island.

PLEASE please help!!!

I attached some pictures of the location. I think its pretty nice for the price. Finally something reasonable.

Actually that date is not correct... June 2011 is a better guess. I am hoping to firm the date within this week. I started looking up off-site caterers and found a few interesting ones that I will be calling this weekend.

I booked my wedding at a vfw last april. we now realized that our original date was on my fh's bro's bday so we changed it. I wanted it closer to the april date but the place was booked up solid from now till july when we are now having our wedding. so you really need to get a date they may not have any more in june and you will have to move it. also the vfw gave us suggestions of like 5 different places to look in to getting food. we found a place that taste really freekin good and is under 6$/pp and is 2 entrees, 2 sides, and all cutlery and rolls. Italian food. sry I cant help you with where exactly to get food cus my location is in chicago but good luck

Rachel I know I'm late but I'm planning a wedding for September and looking for vfw in Chicago...i was thinking lansing Ill..where did you have yours??
