Am I the only one who hates chiavari chairs?

I think they are so ugly. They look like bamboo to me and don't match anything. And...they either come in silver or gold at every venue i've seen. One of my colors are silver/grey, but my venue only has gold chivari chairs. I'd rather just use the plastic white fold up chairs they have instead.

Am I the only one who hasn't given excessive thought to my chairs? I took a picture once to send my mom. I hate covers more than I hate the ugliest chair. The only way I would consider it is if the chairs were velvet, because velvet makes me want to vomit.

Those chairs aren't bad! And thank god someone hate velvet as much as me. That material literally makes me cry

Yeah I think they are fine. Nice and neutral and pretty comfortable. I thought I was the only crazy. I have given serious thought to a line on my website "if you care to hug the bride on her wedding day, please refrain from wearing velvet!"

Emily S. If you love them and have the money to do so, more power to ya! They are obviously so popular and expensive for a reason. Tons of people love them

I like them but we aren't going that route since we are using wood farm tables. They don't suite the tables in my mind and so we are doing matching bistro chairs instead.

I love them one of the venues we were considering those chairs came with the tables I was so inlove lol. But the venue space just wasn't going to work for us.

They are so uncomfortable to me and my fiance refused to have them.

@kalyn, THAT'S ACTUALLY VERY TRUE. Chivari chairs really are NOT the most comfortable chairs on the planet. I think they look great in pics, but I DO remember being at a wedding WITH chivari's, and they actually HURT to sit in. I think it's the way the backs are designed (aka. what makes them look pretty in the first place!)

I think I'll stick with the white folding chairs.. as "tacky" as it might be." If I rent chivari's, it'd be close to 1k, and that's just STUPID to me. That's A LOT of money for people's butts for a few hours.

My venue has white folding chairs for the outside ceremony and then white garden chairs for the reception. I'm happy they have garden chairs and not just folding ones! I'd never pay extra for chivari's.

    Can you get chair covers?

@Lisa, I'm not a fan of chair covers. I think it makes it look like the chair is in a straight jacket or something. I DO wonder if I could rent any other type of chairs (such as the garden chairs you'll be having). That's an idea... may be hella cheaper if it was a possibility.
