Am I the only one who hates chiavari chairs?

I think they are so ugly. They look like bamboo to me and don't match anything. And...they either come in silver or gold at every venue i've seen. One of my colors are silver/grey, but my venue only has gold chivari chairs. I'd rather just use the plastic white fold up chairs they have instead.

3 different style chairs are included in my package. I wouldn't pay for an upgrade for chiavari chairs though. Dont think guests would care anyway

I love them, but wouldn't necessarily pay extra for them.

I love them! They look so pretty in photographs. I would never pay extra for them though. My venue just uses them. They're mahogany with ivory seat cushions. So purty Smiley smile

They're definitely worth it to some, and that's okay! My venue has them for me to use for free, but I may not in the end

We just have those simple white folding chairs. I had to look up what you were talking about --- I kinda like them, but I can see why some don't. Are they really that expensive?

In my town, they are 4 bucks per chair to rent

Nothing makes a chair look worse, in my opinion, than adding that white chair fitting, and a sash. It looks like you put the chair in a straight jacket. I LOVE HOW YOU STARTED THIS THREAD though around the time I started mine. Smiley smile) I love devil's advocates. Well, at least I didn't SEE IT until not long after I posted mine for tonight.

I'm hoping my venue can relocate our white, wooden, folding ceremony chairs to our reception site inside the house in a short amount of time. I'd rather not have to rent chair especially if they are free of charge at our venue.

Hell, even if they did charge me to move the chairs, it still wouldn't be near as much as it would cost to RENT chivari chairs!

I just looked at some tonight. I saw white, silver, black, and mahogany chivari chairs.

These chairs must be a regional thing because I still have no idea what a white folding chair is other than the one's you see in outdoor ceremony's. I've never seen a folding chair in an indoor reception. Where I'm from that would look really tacky

@Kayla, this is my venue's ballroom with the white folding chairs. I will either use these or go with a chivari chair of some kind.

Rusticbride- I've honestly never seen those in indoor reception venues. Usually, those are reserved for outdoor ceremony's. Those are the chairs that my guests will sit on for my ceremony. Now that I seen your picture, I do like them indoors, they just aren't the norm here

I love them. They look so much more elegant. I agree that they can be a little expensive.

I am not a big fan of chiavari chairs but really like the chair covers with sashes....paying 3.50 per chair...not too bad.

@Kayla, yes, that's typical for around here, too. My venue includes 150 of those though, free of charge. They'll just be recycled, and used for the ceremony, then the reception. My debate is whether I need to go just NOT recycle, and rent some chivari chairs. I was thinking either white or gold in the same room I have pictured.

@Kayla my ceremony's outside and the chairs definitely are strange when indoors. (the while folding ones - I'm lucky that the ones my venue uses are nicer than most!). I've only them used indoors a few times.

@Kayla - I've never seen them inside either...they have two different sets of chairs for my reception/ceremony.

Honestly, I love them and wouldn't want anything else. Those other chairs look cheap and party like. - Don't Judge My Opinion

I had no idea what they were until I googled them.

@team...I agree that most other options look cheap. I wish they would come up with something completely different
