I have never been to a wedding where the bride changed out of her wedding dress and into street clothes.. except for his mom who just had a backyard wedding... am i the odd one? I though it was normal to wear your dress the whole time or another "reception dress" which is very similar to the wedding dress maybe just more movable.

My wedding dress isn't going to be cheap ( not expensive for a wedding dress but probably around $1000) so no way am i buying another dress for the reception and i'm gonna wear my 1 dress the whole night!

I wanted to leave straight on our honeymoon after the reception in my dress. I paid way to much for it not to show it off lol. My FH was not on board with my plan ☹️

I loved my dress too much to take it off I wore it as long as I could!!! They are expensive, so I say keep it on.

Yeah, def not changing into a reception dress. I know it’s a newer “thing,” but with the amount the dress costs for one night, I’m wearing it for as long as I can! Lol

You are not the odd one out!! i've never seen street clothes but i have seen a different dress for reception. personally i'm not changing. i just added bustles to mine for the train. i'm not paying that kind of money to wear the dress for a 30 minute ceremony and not wearing it again lol noooo way!

I will be wearing my dress the entire day..as long as I can!! I've also never seen anyone else, other than on TV, change out of their dress either.

Yeah, it's either this, or he's basing his expectation on movies he's seen. That is literally the ONLY place I've ever seen this happen.

Steel Magnolias--Shelby changes into her pink suit at the end of the reception/send off

Father of the Bride--Annie changes into street clothes as they leave the reception for the airport

Those are just two examples, but it happens in many movies where there is a wedding. But in real life? Nope.

I know for what I paid for my dress, I'm wearing it all day, and all night!! I might even sleep in it! LOL j/k. Smiley xd

I’m doing two dresses ! But budgeted for two. I have a ball gown for the ceremony and pictures but for the reception I wasn’t a party dress that’s white. I like the two dress trend BUT if I didn’t put this into my budget I wouldn’t being doing it.

I am definitely wearing mine for the whole night! I've never seen a bride change out of her dress either.

Hahaha it’s possible. When we got married my husband had only ever been to 1 wedding previously (and that wedding was a super informal restaurant wedding with about 30 people, the bride didn’t even wear a wedding dress lol so it’s not like he got any ideas about wedding tradition from there) so I’m pretty sure the majority of his thoughts about what happens at weddings were from movies/tv shows :p

No way! Most girls want to wear their wedding dress all day/night! It is such a long & expensive venture finding THE dress- I say enjoy it as long as you can!!

I’m staying in my dress as long as I can. I love it and this is the only time I get to wear it.
