I have never been to a wedding where the bride changed out of her wedding dress and into street clothes.. except for his mom who just had a backyard wedding... am i the odd one? I though it was normal to wear your dress the whole time or another "reception dress" which is very similar to the wedding dress maybe just more movable.

I was considering getting a "reception" dress but have declined that and will probably sleep in my dress lol. The cost alone...I'm getting every bit of wear out of it that I can. Changing into a reception dress I have seen; but definitely not street clothes.

I wouldn't want to change either. I'm actually searching for a wedding gown that's comfortable so I won't have to go with a second option during the reception.

You can certainly wear one dress for the entire day.

Ya I've only been to one wedding where the bride changed. I'm wearing my dress all night! I paid good money for it, I'm getting my money's worth

Just ignore his remark if you want to wear your dress all night I think that is pretty normal. My fiancé’s feelings were hurt because I refuse to do a garter toss but honestly most things he says about the wedding he forgets the next day anyway.

I have only seen the changing done at very very casual weddings. I myself will be in my dress all night!

I changed into a more comfortable 👗 after pictures.

This was so that I could enjoy myself and move around more freely.

You are not odd! I would definitely not even consider changing given how much wedding dresses are. It's totally whatever you want to do of course!

I've only been to one wedding where the bride changed, but it was into a second dress. I've not yet heard of or seen one where someone changed just into regular clothes. I plan on wearing my dress all day.

I’m not changing, just cause I LOVE my dress and I paid a lot for it. :p

ive never heard of changing, other than for a reception, but everyone has asked me the same thing!

i actually had someone recommend bringing a shorter dress or something to wear, because apparently it’s really awkward walking into a hotel on your wedding night, taking an elevator with other people in your gown, and everyone knows what’s going down :p

I’ve seen people change into reception dresses/suits like you said, but never street clothes or even anything as casual as what the guests were wearing. There’s nothing wrong with it of course, but it’s definitely out of the ordinary.

Asian weddings practically mandate multiple bridal outfit changes. I'm Vietnamese and I'll have 4 total outfits. Most brides will have 2, but I'm extra.

I am changing into another dress after the wedding but that's because we will be in Vegas and going out. Otherwise will be wearing the dress for the wedding/reception. I hope to find something pretty inexpensive for the 2nd dress.

I’m putting that much energy and money into a wedding dress he’ll be lucky if I take it off before the next morning 😂

I'm changing into a reception dress but that's only because my wedding shoes are 5 inches and I don't want to wear them for the whole night

I’m only wearing a reception dress because I’m having a lake wedding and we’re jumping in. Lol so my second dress is for dancing and swimming. It’s pink, more revealing, and fun. You do you. You don’t have to if you don’t want to.

I’ve seen a bride change into another wedding dress for the ceremony but never ever have I seen (and would be shocked if I did) a bride change into street clothes! That would be nuts in my opinion. What kind of reception are you having?

My fiancé has suggested that I change into a reception dress because of the amount of dancing we are going to do. I told him as much as I paid for my dress I was wearing that thing all night! I will definitely have it bustled though!
