Alternative to 'Here Comes the Bride'

#happilyeverpatton2016, on September 25, 2015 at 12:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 58

Brides/Grooms Happy Friday.

Just wanted to know who is walking into the ceremony to 'Here Comes the Bride' and who will be walking to the instrumental of some other song?

I don't want to walk to 'here comes the bride' so I plan on walking to the instrumental to Still by Tamia. I love that song and it describes us perfectly.

I'm actually walking in to "The Day Before You" by Rascal Flatts. It completely encompasses our journey to finding each other. I want to play the entire song, so that will be the song everyone comes in to, my mom and stepdad, my grandma, the girls, and me. I have a specific moment I want as my entrance. I didn't want to deal with multiple songs because I wanted it to be easier to put together and time, and I wanted to play the whole song.

ETA: The pace and sound of the song are perfect for aisle-walking. At least, I think so.

I am planning to walk down the aisle to an instrumental version of Do You Know Who You Are by Texas is the Reason. Maybe not this exact version:

I'm walking to the instrumental of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Is anyone having the bridal party walk to a different song? Or are you having one song for everyone?

My sister walked down the aisle to the Imperial Death March from Star Wars. Her bridal party entered to the Jurassic Park theme song.... They left to the Indiana Jones Theme song... they love that composer...

ETA: I'm not sure what I'm going to enter to at this point. I have time.

I walked to Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke. It's a pretty popular alternative to the Bridal Chorus (which our church didn't allow) and it worked great.

Stairway to Heaven by The Ojays. I've always loved this song and since I have to come down stairs at my venue, its kind of perfect.

@Jennifer - Thank you! I've been a California country girl all my life, so it's fitting to have country music at my wedding. That song actually wasn't my first choice, but I made the mistake of telling my ex bff the song I loved most when she was planning her wedding, so she used that one. This was before I met Mister, though. Shortly after I realized I was falling in love with him and would want to spend my life with him, this song came on the radio. I had heard it before, of course, but it was like hearing it again for the first time and in a completely different context. I knew it would be the one. I played it for him and he cried.
