Alternative to Flowers for Wedding Party

Instead of boutonnieres and bouquets, what are you using to complete your wedding look? The flowers I like aren't in bloom in September and I don't want to use fake flowers either. Our ceremony and reception are in the evening-- think an evening soiree. The bridesmaids are wearing long, navy dresses of their choice (everyone's a different height and body type). They're getting silver clutches as part of their bridesmaid gift that they can use with their dresses the day of or for another occasion if they so choose.

I've seen people uses succulents. They come in all shapes and sizes and they are pretty hearty. Ask your florist if there are similar flowers to what you were looking for. I know people in September want to use peonies but they are a spring flower, a close dupe is a garden rose. There aren't many blue/navy flowers to match your colors but some flowers can be dyed.

I was surprised to see cotton candy bouquets are trending. People are also using lanterns, parasols, fans, and balloons.

Some other ideas I have seen include fans, balloons, bridesmaids bags, brooch bouquets, parasols, and lanterns. I have also seen fake flowers made out of all different types of material, but you don't want fake flowers which is totally understand. I'm having mostly real flowers for my wedding since I don't like fake ones either. You could also check to see if any florists online sell the flowers you want, but then you'd have to handle doing the flowers yourself or you could ask your florist if you already have one if there is a similar flower to what you want. I have included some photos to get idea of what the other things I mentioned would look like.

I’ve seen just baby’s breath bouquets with gorgeous satin ribbon...inexpensive and beautiful.

I was at a wedding on Halloween one year and the bride used fans for her bridesmaids. She had feathers and roses on them and they looked awesome

They could totally just carry the clutches, since you're doing them anyway. For the men, have them wear pocket squares, rather than boutonnieres.

My MOH's bouquet is made from balls of yarn, the Best Woman will have paper flowers made from sheet music, boutonnieres will be made from D20s, Magic the Gathering pins, and meeples, and our parents will each have a brooch of something related to them (ex. my dad's is an anchor). As of right now my bouquet will be the only flowers.

Feathers and fans are probably my favorite alternative I've seen.

We are doing a Tangled theme, so I bought some really cute 'stained glass' enamel pins at Box Lunch instead of boutonnieres for the Groom's side. I got them on sale at about $6 a pin- much cheaper than the floral alternative, and I love that they're on theme.

As for my side, I only have one female, being my daughter who is going to be the flower girl. thinking of having her with bubbles instead, since she LOVES them and it would be whimsical. My bridesmen I may have hold small lanterns like in the movie, but because they're men I may just give them pins as well and call it a day.
