Alternate wedding outfit!

Erica, on May 19, 2020 at 12:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

I got my backup/alternate wedding outfit for our July 12 wedding but I'm not sure what I want to wear when!

I'm afraid the dress with the train, etc. (though not super long), may be too much if we are forced to go to plan b - a small ceremony for just the immediate family at the synagogue or if weather permits, rabbi's backyard.

I wish it looked as good on me as it does on the model, but I think with some altering (shorten the crotch and a lot of hemming) it will be more flattering and comfortable - I'm only 5'3 and somewhat short waisted with a smallish chest.

So.... here it is,

Alternate wedding outfit! 1

Just for reference this is my dress:

Not fancy in the least, but I think for a somewhat unique situation - a unique outfit is in order!

Or should I save the jumpsuit for a later reception and go ahead with the dress regardless of what takes places on July 12???

Thoughts? Advice?

I love love love that jumpsuit!

If you will feel move comfortable in the jumpsuit at your small ceremony, wear it! Then, wear your actual wedding gown at your reception whenever you are able to have it. I'm sure your guest will love to see you in your gown!

Its really how you feel. I agree with PP if you feel more comfortable in the jumpsuit then wear that! If you want to wear your dress which I don't think that the train is too long and you already have it bustled so you could do that as well. I love your dress and that jumpsuit is cute!! Its up to how you feel!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the positive feedback Smiley smile

I guess I'll have to wait until next month to know what's possible on July 12 before I make a decision - I think there's a 60 day return policy if I end up not wearing it/needing it. I kinda want to keep it anyway, though I have no idea when else I'd have an occasion to wear a white jumpsuit like that!!!!!

The jumpsuit is cut but I’d want to wear the crap out of that gorgeous dress. I would make up excuses to wear it multiple times.

My fbil is getting married in October - I wonder if I could wear it then? Or is that a total no no, white/ivory at someone else's wedding?

I spent $127 on it, so keeping it and not wearing it won't bankrupt me, but will feel very wasteful -

The dress on the other hand, after alterations was, well, above budget - enough said!

It's an awesome jumpsuit and I think you should wear it at some point. Rehersal dinner or honeymoon fancy dinner?

But at someone else's wedding is a total no no.

I LOVE this jumpsuit! It's super cute! Wear whatever makes you happy! Personally if this was me, I would wear the beautiful dress to my ceremony even if it's intimate and small. I would want to get my pictures taken in the dress too. What is your FH wearing? The jumpsuit seems more like a fun reception outfit to me, and definitely a show-stopper! Smiley love

    So...

It's been decided - fh wants to see wedding dress for the ceremony no matter what shape that takes on July 12 (10 - 20 people or the full 70 person guest list).

If if only a 10 -20 person intimate gathering, I will save jumpsuit for a later reception, tbd.

I love your dress, I'm glad you'll be wearing it no matter what the ceremony ends up like. It's a special day, no matter how big or small the guest list ends up.
