Alterations Hell = Weight Loss + Wedding dress!!

Alterations warning/ vent if you are losing weight and DON'T have a corset back dress but DO hace a dress with beading/lace!Smiley atonished

So..bought a $250 dress...lost 2 dress sizes, can't be taken in..buy new $300 wedding dress that is 2 sizes smaller....now 2 months before wedding, lostenough weight in boobs/waist that it won't stay up and has to be altered..but not enough to be able to wear a smaller dress *sigh * minimum of $500 in alterations at a cheap place that does nice work PLUS an extra $80-100 for my custom drape sleeve!
Thank God I didn't pay full price or even half price for either dress! I bought $3,200 worth of dresses (2 dresses) for $550...and now gonna spend a min. of $500 to get the 1 I need altered to fit. Lol
*crosses fingers* if I can sell the original it will at least pay for almost half of my alterations costXD

Also the good news is, she is including the hemming and possible bustle (more likely a wrist loop if it will save me money!) In the estimate!

Oh my dress is BEAUTIFUL and I love it SO much I officially decided today I didn't want to change into a reception dress. I'd been planning on it for almost a year but today i got to try my dress on again and just didn't want to take it off! LOL
Of course, having to spend so much on alterations also helped Smiley winking

My weight loss secret is no secret: Sleeve Surgery. After years of working with trainer+nutrition+Dr with diet pills as a combo and just getting nowhere and exhausting myself, I got the surgery last september...however even with that I'm losing weight much slower than most people who have this surgery, my body hates me :p

That's my biggest fear with losing weight. My dress fits perfectly now. I really don't want to shell out hundreds to have it taken in but I also want less of a double chin. Ugh

This is my fear with weight loss and wedding dress shopping. Scared to wait too long to buy the dress, but scared if buy a dress and lose weight it'll be expensive to alter or unable to alter it.

    Congratulations on your weight loss!

Thus was my conundrum!! Luckily I found both off the rack at such steep discounts, otherwise I have no idea what I would have done...no way could I have afforded multiple dresses much less the alterations, otherwise!
But, as much as I didn't want a dress with a corset back...heres one GIANT pro for people who get dresses with the corset back: you can tighten the damn thing yourself and it's easy to take in/let out! LOL

I hate to limit myself to corset backs but I may have to go this route.

This is exactly why I’ve been trying not to lose weight even though I’d really like to. My dress fit like a glove when I bought it and I lost a whole dress size since then. I bought a push-up bra to hopefully fill out some of the extra space. Lol

Yeah..I honestly haven't been able to see the difference in weight and was feeling really depressed about not losing "enough" compared to others...but when I got the dress in Dec it was just a smidge tight, but zipped and everything stayed in place and it fit.
Today, inches all around the top gaping...clearly lost boobs and even when standing still just the weight of the beading kept it sliding down ! Boobs..such traitors. Why couldn't I have lost more at the waist/lower belly?! Damnit. Lol

I had lost about 10 pounds between first finding my dress and when I went back and ordered it two weeks later. Since ordering, I’ve lost about 6 more. I actually called the bridal shop a week or two ago and asked what my measurements were the day I ordered, so I can make sure I don’t stray too far from that. I’m so worried that I’m going to spend a ton on alterations Smiley sad
