Alter Decor- Help!!!

Help!! My wedding is in October of 2020 and I’m stuck on what to do with two main elements of the venue! (Don’t get me wrong- I’m IN LOVE with our venue but these two things have been nagging at me for almost two years of planning!)
1) The bare walls drive me nuts!! Having some blank space is totally fine but there’s just way too much with our venue
2) The ceilings are so tall that we can’t do any draping and can only decorate the backdrop of the alter so high. Looking at the pictures, do you guys have any creative, elegant ideas I could do to embrace the original beauty of the alter but also add to it? (P. S. Our wedding colors are just black, white, and greenery with pops of gold) I appreciate any and all feedback!! Alter Decor- Help!!! 1

Would they allow you to use command hooks or something similar? You could put those up and hang wreaths, bows, or banners from them on the walls. The alter area is a little trickier but you could again ask about command hooks, or see about doing really tall decorations that sit on the floor. Not sure if that’s something you would like but I hope it gets you a couple ideas!

I totally agree with asking about command hooks! You could put larger ones on either side of the wood and drap a lightweight fabric across the alter. Especially if they have a limit on how high you can go, you could do it closer to the height of a regular alter and it would break up alot of the height of the room.

From there, depending on the weight of everything you could do Christmas lights through the fabric, drape a lighted curtain, or even hang like a paper mache letter of your new inital!

Also that venue is beautiful and I love those colors! Plus the high ceilings will help everyone feel less crowded. Congratulations and good luck planning!
