Alright. This is one thing that I am having a terrible time with! My dress is strapless so I have to get a strapless bra. I hate strapless bras because they never stay up for me! But, I'm willing to do it, if I can find one that will stay up! But, I also have the problem of being a 40B! I want a bra...

Anyone else having the same problems I am? What bra/ brand are you/ did you wear! This girl needs help!

Kris - that's so weird about your VS experience as they put me in a 36DD when I was wearing a 36C ... for awhile. lol She told me that I had to make sure that the bra sat on the top of my rib cage (like the middle btwn the boobs).

Anyway, on topic, I'm not wearing one either as my dress has a corset and the bra made zero difference. Smiley smile

Yea VS is not the best place for us bigger chested girls. I stick to Macys and Dillards. I actually got a bra from the bridal store and it keeps my girls up and in place, I'm a 34DD.

I'm not wearing a bra. My dress is strapless and they put in cups for me to push the sisters up. I actually had my final fitting today and the cups worked wonders!

I'm a 34D and I am letting the girls hang out!

My dress has a lot of structure and boning and is a corset so it naturally has a lot of support.

When I do have to wear strapless bras I prefer the long line ones 2d Bride was talking about. They stay in place better than a regular strapless IMHO

Try Fredericks of Hollywood..they are more accomodating to anything over a 34....VS is all about the skinny supermodel ....and consider getting your alterations done elsewhere like a highly recommended seamstress in your town. im worried about the same thing youo are and will be trying to have the cups sown into dress to give me a boost

I'd describe my chest the way Tami P described hers: LAZY. I thought I'd never be able to wear a strapless dress. But the dress I fell in love with was strapless. Davids Bridal had a bra they had me use while trying on a dress and it was pretty good at keeping me - and my girls - in the dress. You may want to see if your seamstress/store can offer some kind of suggestion on what bras or bustiers will work for you!

I brought my mom and grandmother to the shop so they could see me in it.... and my grandmother (the best kind of oldfashioned) said "Arent you worried your going to.... fall out?!?" It was kinda great.

OMG! I hate VS. I am an F and the lady tried to measure me as a C. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I haven't been a C since the 6th grade. I will never go to VS to be measured again. That was terrible. Anyways, I plan on having everything put into the dress. I really do not feel like dealing with that.

I would say go get measured.. but dont go to Victoria Secret or 1 of the stores where there kids out of high school working.. Go to Nordstrom or Bloomingdales ...

for the past 2 years I been wearing bra that is 34B .. few weeks ago we were in Florida, & my friend took me to her girl at Nordstrom to get measured & I am 32DDD or 32F (depends on a bra maker) ... so I say DEFINITELY go get measured by a good quality person ...

Also, you can get the bra sewed into your dress & then it will stay put

Also, now that I am wearing a correct bra size, my clothes fit completely different (in MUCH better way) ...

People at work even asked me if I got implants recently because my boobs look completely different

Man! I really wish I had a Nordstrom around here! I'm thinking about getting cups sewn in, but what do you do for the fitting?

Victoria Secret is horrible with bra sizing. I went in there last year and the lady told me that I was a 34C. Really? Normally I am a 34D and I was pregnant when I went in there! So I went to Motherhood. Guess what?! I was a 36DD. I never ask Victoria Secret workers to measure me again. I bought my strapless from kohls but I am going braless and having cups sewn in. My dress has a lot of structure and with cups it's prefect.

I got a corset that is strapless off eBay, and I feel very comfortable in it. I think I may get another one that has more boning in it because I think this one is almost too comfortable. I tend to slouch and bra or on bra, a full frontal view of the girls is not what I want in the pictures. Smiley winking

I'm using a corset or a bustier for my dress as i have fairly large girls too. that is the best solution for my Victorian gowns that I will be wearing on my wedding day

This has been my biggest stress this week. i just bought my dress last weekend and it should be in november. my sister is advising me to wait until january to get a strapless bra since i might be loosing weight by then. i tried on a really nice one that fit really well at klenfields but it was probably super expensive. i havent been able to find a nice one like that anywhere. macys doesnt have much of a selection in their stores.

I am going with the corset with a bra under the dress and then my dress is also a corset so those babies aren't moving anywhere!!

@Holly - if you want to have cups sewn into your dress, call ahead of time and ask if you can buy cups from them (whoever is doing your alterations). If not, they can probably tell you where to buy some that you can bring with you for your fitting. My seamstress had cups there that she is letting my BMs buy to have sewn in but there are lots of places you can buy them.

I agree with 2d. A cup just means your boobs stick out one inch from where your band goes. B is 2 inches, C is 3 inches, D is 4 inches, etc. So someone who has a 34 band measurement with a C cup does not necesarilly have the same sized breasts as a 38C. Because larger band measurement=larger bust to equal the same 3 inch difference. Most women don't think about it that way which leads to them wearing the wrong bra size. Instead of going up a cup size when their bra starts getting too tight on the boobs they just go up a band size. If your bra does not fit get measured by a seamstress, take those two numbers and subtract the smaller(band) from the larger(bust). That is your cup size number mentioned above. I'm a 29C, talk about hard to find lol. I usually end up with a 32C. I could wear a 34 or 36B, but the 32C fits better. I had issues all the time with strapless bras falling when I thought I was a 36B. 32Cs do not fall, so the right bra matters.
