Already Married, Planning Wedding Still

Riley, on July 19, 2020 at 1:28 PM Posted in Planning 1 8
Hey everyone!
Due to COVID we had to move our original date for our wedding from May 8th to Sept 4th but we did not want to wait that long to get married, so we went ahead and got married at church with our immediate family. I am not sure what we should do for our September date, should we do another ceremony as if we never got married? Or maybe talk with our pastor about options we could do instead? We already paid for almost all of our wedding, the ceremony included so We are going to do SOMETHING, just not sure yet. Any ideas are greatly appreciated 😊

Some people do the ceremony again but have other options such as a unity ceremony or they say different vows, etc

    Hey Riley!

Congratulations to you and your new hubby!

You mentioned you paid for everything, are you having a reception somewhere? You can display pictures from your wedding or set up a slideshow. You could talk about the wedding day instead of saying vows. For the guests who couldn't attend, describe how beautiful that day was for you and your husband. Make it fun!

I would redo the ceremony to share the moments with guests who couldn’t make it the first go round. A lot of brides wish they could relive their wedding and you’re fortunate to be able to do that!!!

Hey, yes we are having our ceremony and reception at our venue. I really want to have another ceremony-type event but I’m not sure what we would do. We did not have our photographer for our May Date, and I should’ve mentioned we have 2 musicians already paid for and they are doing our ceremony and afterwards the reception

I think that is what we will end up doing, just wasn’t sure if there was something we might be able to do since we are really already married Smiley smile

A friend of mine is doing something similar. They got married at the courthouse with just the moms. And then next year they're just going to do it all with their entire guest list.

I did the same thing. Do people know she’s married other than he close friends? Having a hard time deciding what to do

Yes, they informed guests of the cancellation about 5 weeks before the wedding after everything was already paid for Smiley cry . Once they got married at the courthouse, thankfully on the same day, they made the announcement online.
