All parks are closed now! Where to have my wedding?? Ideas wanted!

Tara, on April 15, 2020 at 3:35 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14
Well we are doing a very small intimate ceremony on our original date since we couldn’t have our big day. The only thing is..we have had to move it 3 times now because state parks closed and now the city parks have closed and now it’s supposed to rain all day. It seems I can’t catch a break. Looking for ideas of where to have this that isn’t my house. Open to ideas! Please help me brain storm!! 😩

i don't know where you're from but i'm in socal and surprisingly although our parks and hiking trails are closed there are still some places like the arboretum open. so maybe check for private businesses or whatever like gardens and such like that.

Maybe you can find someone with a large back yard or a farm that you would be able to use.

Honestly, I really, really think your house is the best option here. With the parks being closed, a public, outdoor setting will be few-and-far-between, and safety should be everyone's number 1 concern right now. I'd say doing a Zoom ceremony in your living room on your original date, then doing the large celebration later is in your best interest.

Maybe call a small restaurant to see if they can do something. We have a nice one here in New Braunfels Texas with a great outdoor patio but I don’t know where you are. If you want to reply back and let me know where about your at I wouldn’t mind looking something up for you have nothing else to do during this time. Best Wishes!!!

These look like they have nice back patio, call and ask if you could talk to a manger and ask them if you could something small there because of what’s going on they might be okay with it restaurants are being hurt a lot who knows maybe they will be okay with it look at it as a way of making money. Best Wishes!!

Depending on what is happening in your area, you may not be allowed to congregate anywhere except your backyard.

I have family and friends in tarrant county and I know public or private gatherings of any sort are prohibited with people outside of your household there. So I think at home might be your only option even though that would still be in violation unfortunately. It’s up to you on the risk you want to take.

I don’t know about your city or state rules on this, but I know where I’m at they’ve specifically said weddings and funerals are not banned, but just that in order to have them you must follow social distancing guidelines and that means following whatever the group limit of people is. The rain thing is what would bother me the most with the current prospect. Do you have anyone close to you with a pretty gazebo, porch or something that would be willing?
