All inclusive wedding venue tipping.

I’Mmrsv, on August 29, 2017 at 1:50 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Our venue is all inclusive i.e.,Catering, Cake, DJ, Flowers. We paid a 22% service charge. We also paid $3000 for a photography package. Please refresh my memory as to who and how much should be tipped. Apologies if I'm asking a question that's been asked 500 times... I'm always on mobile.

Service fee doesn't mean tip, ask ur venue what the service fee includes

Definitely ask the venue about the Service Charge. Our goes to the wait staff as gratuity but they said every place is different.

You need to ask your venue what that includes. It may or may NOT include the tip. If it does, then you're good. You don't have to tip. If it doesn't, then you should tip!

We are doing same. I think service charge is tip. I was wondering if we tip the extra services separately like DJ?

Most places that charge a service fee pay the staff more than a non-restaurant tipped person would get. In CA, minimum wage for more than 26 employees is $12. Unlike federal, no separate wage for tipped people. Asking the venue now is ridiculous, what do you think they will say? Some would say tip 25-50 per server, but I would definitely not tip based on cost of food

Ok, it includes a bartender as well and the cost of our open bar is $1100. I feel like I need to at least tip my bartender. And what about photographer? I'll definitely ask my venue about the service charge.
