Some hotels require you to need at least 10-rooms to qualify for a discount. You will have to guarantee that a certain percentage will be picked-up (this is called attrition, and is normally 70%-80%). Your guests will also have a cut-off date, which is the last day to book their discounted date and is typically 30-60 days prior to group check-in.



Since you’re having the wedding there, ask if there’s a “courtesy block” option. This may allow them to block a few rooms at a discount for your guests, without you having to guarantee that they’ll be reserved. This may call for a sooner cut-off date though, maybe 60+ days prior to group check-in.
