Should there be alcohol at a bridal shower? My sisters are planning mine and they keep arguing over this one. One sister thinks we should have wine and mimosas and sangrias. My other sister thinks that there shouldn't be any alcohol. She said it's poor etiquette. Is there a rule for or against having it? Who else is serving alcohol?

Also I don't think it's necessary because it's an English tea party. I think we should just have tea and lemonade.

We had margs and sangria at mine! Showers are so ungodly boring and I know I always appreciate when there's alcohol!

Oh no, I think poor etiquette would be leaving out the alcohol lol.

Absolutely at least wine and mimosas. My shower was full open bar.

Honestly, I think any function where you are inviting guests should include alcohol, but that's just me.

There should be alcohol at every awkward gathering. I like the "orange juice makes it socially acceptable to drink in the morning" comment. I've never heard it said this way, but I agree.

Wedding showers are the worst- so yes. You need alcohol and plenty of it. If I have to be at a wedding shower I better be drunk.

I would prefer alcohol to be at my shower if I were to have one.

I didn't read PPs, but please, please, please have alcohol. Bridal showers are a chore even with alcohol. Not sure I could make it through one without an adult drink.

Missed the theme part. Maybe mimosas don't match that theme- def then have vodka for the lemonade lol

I think it depends on the shower you want. I threw my bff a brunch and bubbly - we just had 3 different flavor self serve mimosas and tea and water. But I've also been to showers with no booze.

My shower was literally at a winery, so there was lots of alcohol.

    Yes, serve the booze.

I've never attended a bridal shower that didn't have booze- we had a margarita bar for my friend last summer, and it was a huge hit!

For my first one we did lunch and there were mimosas as we arrived. The next one will be at a winery. The third one will be at my aunts and there is never a gathering without alcohol. I had 3 because FH's family lives 2 hours away from my family. And my family is too large so we split it up. I think it depends on venue and what will be going on at the shower. If it is an English tea party I think it would be appropriate to not have alcohol.

There is no etiquette on whether to have alcohol or not a a bridal shower. If you want alcohol, let them know. My sister asked & I told her I want a mimosa bar, sangria, wine; something.

I think it's a good idea to have it. For my cousins we did a mimosa bar and it was a huge hit! We had champagne, different fruit juices and different fruits to add in. So everyone got to kind of customize it. We did orange juice, pineapple, passionfuit, and watermelon juice. For fruit we had strawberries, pomegranates seeds, and like two others that I can't think of.
