Hi everyone! Planning to have a small, intimate wedding 15-30 people in Malibu, CA in August of this year. The guest count will depend on social distancing regulations and how comfortable we feel. How can we go about to find an Airbnb that will allow for a small party in the backyard? It will only be for the ceremony and a modest brunch. No band or party. Anyone else doing this? Our backup plan is to do a backyard wedding in my parent's home but I feel like an Airbnb would be prettier, bigger and allow for more social distancing.

    I guess when you are searching you will have to see if it states backyard is able to be used for guest ....to BBQ this is an example

    We’re doing the same. Having a rather small guest count of approximately 30 and rented an Airbnb to have the ceremony. Check their policies on their listings but also don’t be afraid to message them and ask! I messaged around a dozen places and got variety of responses. I would say 50% of the hosts were willing to allow & accommodate our intimate wedding.

    Definitely message the hosts and confirm that's ok. They might also have some insight on gatherings in that area. I got married in Topanga, which is right next to Malibu, and the residents can be stuck-up about noise. You won't have a band, so that's probably pretty safe, but double-check with your hosts so you don't get noise violations from neighbors.
