After wedding ideas?

Cassi, on January 2, 2021 at 1:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 20
I’ve mentioned before, my wedding is an intimate micro wedding. The venue I want to use does not provide reception which is perfect because I don’t necessarily want one. We are having a destination wedding in FL. Any ideas or suggestions on what we could do with our bridal party/guests afterwards? We are partiers(but like the 30 and up kind) we don’t get too wild but just enough lol we’ve toyed with the ideas of seeing what Florida nightlife is like in destin or close by🤔 thanks in advance for any suggestions!♥️

I do not know about which part of Florida you are going to but if you are in an area with a bar scene or lounges you could do that. I did a minimony at a bed and breakfast we had for 3 hours and then we went to a restaurant afterwards to eat and we would have gone to the rooftop of our hotel but that was when Eta was looming but we ended up at a tavern after and had some beers and it was fun. I just like to sit and talk though but maybe a rooftop bar or lounge?

If you are not having a reception after your ceremony, I am assuming you will be taking everybody out for a meal after the wedding. If you are using a local restaurant for this, you could always ask your waiter where a good place to go after would be. As a person who used to work in the industry, I can tell you waiters and bartenders always know all the best places to go! 😉

That sounds so fun to me! I like to sit and talk too unless the music is loud I’ll get up and dance a lil bit. But the older I get in more chill than “turnt” lol thank youu! 😊we’re going to Destin FL btw. I think it’s more of a family vibe and I’m like maybe we’ll have to drive or catch some type of Lyft out of the way so we aren’t disturbing the peace anywhere lol idk 😬🤷🏽‍♀️

Yes!! That’s the plan, bc there isn’t more than 20 people collectively coming. And that includes if they bring a plus one 😊 we plan to get a rental home and provide stay for everyone. The only expense we would like them to have is their flights 🙏🏽That’s why I’m planning as much as I can now so We will be prepared 💪🏽Thank you!! That’s not a bad idea in case I can’t figure it out beforehand ♥️

You may want to locate a restaurant and reserve for a party of 20 or 30, at regular restaurant rates, or with a limited menu for meals and drink, so no one orders an $80 meal but everyone's will run $20-30, plus one cocktail or 2. Then head out to party. drinks in nice party areas with dancing, inc tax and tip, will run 20 plus, half that in a restaurant. And people unfed will drink twice as much and order barfood, running a higher tab than paying a meal and 2 drinks. And letting people pay for their own nightlife, which is fine since your hospitality is the meals and restaurant drinks.
Except in hurricane season, I like the Destin to Pensacola area.

Some type of reception is a must. That can be as simple as everyone going out to eat on your dime, which is the standard. It's a restaurant rather than a ballroom. Dancing optional but guests typically mingle.

You can do anything you want as long as you cover the bill. Have dancing with dinner at a local venue or explore the nightlife if that is your preference.

Yeah I don't think there's much in Destin but it's the panhandle which is beaches. I would do research but maybe a beach front restaurant with love music and a dance floor to get up if you like the beat. They must have something like that.

Or if you're on a budget make the dancing not a party of the wedding rather am if you want to join us. Yes dinner is included but I think going out and drinks so does your budget cover that? I have some friends that can drink so I wouldn't want to cover their bill lol. Also would you want to reserve a spot for seating which could be more. All depends on your budget. I think a restaurant with food and love music and maybe cover 1-2 drinks would be best. We only had two guest and went during the restaurants happy hour so drinks were affordable. Think of who you're inviting bc when some people know someone's playing for their food and drink they can go crazy. I would Def pre order (maybe give guests options of plates) food and some drinks to stay within budget and let your guests know what comes with dinner so they know of they want to get lit it's on them unless you plan on funding that.

I honestly haven’t made a specific budget for it. I just know I would want to cover it. Our friends are pretty reasonable and considerate but you’re right, some of them can drink 😂😂 I’ll let them know it’s not a open tab if we do choose to cover it all. I love the idea of happy hours and doing a pre order or custom menu for our budget to help us keep it controlled. These are great things to consider thank you so much for your ideas and advice I hadn’t thought of these, at least I hadn’t yet lol

Lol bc I did the same. We ordered small plates and were thinking to have our friends order what they want (2 vs 20 though) but Tujunga did was bigger than we expected. We had wings, California rolls, cauliflower pizza and balsamic chips. Heck we fed the photographers we had.

Wow!! How much, if you don’t mind me asking, was your total? I mean I’ll probably have about 12-16 people if they bring a plus one and then kids if people bring them but that’s not going to add up to be much as far as the kids go.

Can't help you there as hubby paid the bill lol. However, for what I pre ordered and even the few drinks had it should have been no more than $200 and that was splurging. I would say once you find a restaurant even if you want to do a full dinner I would look at the cheapest options and give a few and maybe let your guests select. Maybe like fish & chips, chicken sandwich...obviously stay away from expensive sea food and steaks. Maybe a couple of appetizer selections for the table. I think two drinks each is more than enough and if they want more they can get their own but I am a firm believer of I do not need to pay to get you drunk. I am sure depending on the restaurant you could do $20/person maybe $25 and I would leave it to cheap cocktails or beer and wine.

Here are a few places I looked up. I am not sure how nice they look inside or how close they are to your venue but they have live menus and the prices seem reasonable.
