After booking the venue what is the next big thing to focus on??

Catering and photographer, those book up fast. If you want a designer cake you should also book around that time because those award winning bakeries book a lot earlier than a standard bakery.

My venue is already taking care of the catering so I didn't have to worry about that anymore. Ask your venue if they have preferred caterers. Some venues are strict with this so make sure you check with them first.

This is the order that I did things in:

1. Wedding Party

2. Guest Count/List

3. Venue

4. Photographer

5. Bartending

6. DJ

7. Catering

8. Officiant

The rest is still being planned

The catering is probably something I'd put over the DJ but there has been some debate between me and my parents on what will be served so I have been trying to respect their opinion. I'd start by booking the most expensive and important things to you. Photos are VERY important to me so that was immediate after the venue. Bar came next because our guests are Czech/German and like to drink. Do what suits you!

I would look at photography next. Great photographers get booked 1+ years out so you'll have more options by looking at those now!

Photographer for sure, then DJ.

After venue, we locked down photography and catering next (DJ was included with our venue).

Well i’d say the first thing is to have a number margin of the guest list. you can’t really book most vendors without them asking for a guest count. then i’d say try to book the vendors and try on dresses and such.

I did the DJ and photography! I also searched for the officiant because we wanted bilingual which seemed to be a little harder to find!

Photographer, Officiant, Catering/Bartender/DJ/Florist - you have some time to do all of these, but the photographer will probably book up the fastest.

After we booked our venue, we booked our photographer & DJ. I also started shopping for my dress.

For us it was the caterer. We just booked her a couple of weeks ago. Now we are focused on the Photographer and DJ.
