Affordable Wedding Venue (under $5,000)

Kayla, on March 24, 2016 at 4:06 PM Posted in Planning 1 17

Hello my name is Kayla and I've been having the worst time trying to find a venue in Florida that's $5,000 or under. I've looked into a few State Parks (which is very cheap) the only set back is they do not allow alcohol! I'm not looking for a beach wedding either! Our wedding is very rustic, country so the beach won't exactly fit in. Please help! I need the entire wedding to be covered, tables, chairs, food, music, ceremony reception, clean up and set up for no more than $5,000! Any help is appreciated! Thanks ladies!

How many guests do you plan to have, and what part of FL? That will be a huge factor in whether $5,000 is manageable or not.

I wish you lots of luck in finding this.

Honestly the best advice, do the ceremony at the state park or court house, then go have your reception at a nice restaurant and keep the numbers low.

The budget tool on here can help for how much $ to allocate to each part. if you delete things you don't need you can figure out how much you have for the venue itself. Have you looked at any farms/barns? There's a cute venue here in Tallahassee called Shiloh Farms but I have no idea how close that is to you.

The bottom line- you need an officiant and food for your guests (which should be a very small number). Everything else is unnecessary.

Reach out to some community centers in your town, we have a really nice one in my town and it holds up to 286 people. The cost was only like 825 to rent and I would get back $250 (deposit). There are websites to use that you can purchase the linen cheaper then renting it. You can get table cloths for under 8 bucks is how cheap I am talking. Serve a simple meal, like bake/grill chicken breast. Rice, green beans and a roll. Reach out to some local liqour stores for alcohol some offer discounts.

Check with Hunsader Farms in Bradenton or The Barn in Venice.

You'll probably need to clarify when you're searching also. At first you said a venue under $5,000 but later you specify you need that to also include chairs food and music?! That's a little different.

Florida is huge. it takes a full day to drive from the panhandle to Miami. and of course the larger cities (Miami, Tampa, Orlando) will cost far more than smaller/ more rural areas.

I'm spending 3x that on my venue (which includes catering and open bar) in the Orlando area.

We are having our wedding at OK Corral out in Okeechobee, if you're into the rustic theme this is your place. EXTREMELY affordable and they provide the food and bar. Tables and all is included. It's worth the drive (:

If you are in the Tampa area you need to reconsider your budget. I didn't want to sacrifice my guest list so I searched every.single.venue. in my area and I'm paying double that for a lunch ceremony/reception. The market in Tampa is food minimums, not minimum head count. Good luck!

$5,000 for a venue is reasonable, but $5,000 for an entire wedding is not realistic.

Try Airbnb or VRBO for a place. If you want rustic, you might be able to find a home that fits your needs with less restrictions. That's what I'm doing for my pool party reception. You'd be surprised what you can find.

Also, what part of Florida are you having the wedding?

You can do a $5000 wedding.

It just depends on what you expect for $5000.

If you have a wedding for 100 guests, that is $50/person catering...a modest price....but that is food only. Not venue, decor, officiant, tables/chairs/linens, dj, photographer, cake, invitations, dress/shoes, etc. But - if that same wedding is for 50 guests, it becomes much more do-able.

Many ladies here are probably spending about $100/person. I happen to have a GREAT caterer I use that is about $25/person but then with 20% service charge plus 20% gratuity it is $35/person, really. But still, a great price for a real caterer.

And - if you are expecting a popular type venue, it might not be do-able.

And - it depends on what you expect. You can cater a Mexican buffet from Rubios for 100 people for less than $1000.

    You know?

It depends on guest count, and your expectations. One of my daughter's friends got married in her grandparents' suburban backyard. It was a lovely, fun reception and they probably spent less than $500. It was fun and the food was delicious, and there was music and dancing and hydrangeas on the tables. It doesn't have to be what you see on pinterest and on tv. Smiley smile
