Affordable Venues - Westchester/Mid Hudson Valley NY?

natalie, on November 3, 2012 at 7:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi ladies - I'm looking for a venue to have our ceremony and reception in Westchester/ low to mid Hudson Valley, NY area? Any recommendations? I'd ideally love a vineyard or beautiful nature view of a river, lake, valley etc. We need an indoor venue options for a Sunday in March 2014 wedding 125 guest. I'd like to stick within $3,500 - $4,000 for the venue including - table, chains and possibly linens. I know it's far shot, but I'm open to in all-inclusive venues that include the price of food also. My wedding budget is $20k I know it's going to be hard in this area, but I'm determined to stick with that number. Thanks! Any recommendations are very appreciated!!

Villa Borghese, in Wappengers Falls, the Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain, Half Moon House, in Dobbs Ferry, possibly Falkirk, in Central Valley (which I love), Chateau Hathorne in Warwick, Caitlin Gardens, in Slate Hill. All are all inclusive.

I don't know what it costs really or what is included but the Mohonk Mountain house holds weddings I know, and it has some gorgeous views around that area.

Going off of Celia's post.... Chateau Hathorne is pretty pricey. Catlin Gardens can be pricey too and the owner's daughter who runs the show is extremely nasty (it is where I got married). Falkirk is where I had my 2nd date with my hubby. I don't know the pricing, but I remember the food being pretty good.

That being said.... I wouldn't rule anything out off the bat since your looking into a Sunday wedding in the off-peak season. And the Warwick Conference Center has some breathtaking views as well.

Villa Borghese is absolutely stunning.I recently did florals there and you simply HAVE to go see their fully redone cocktail room... it is.... it's so beautiful. Photographs cannot do it justice. I would really look at them in person - the prices are good, the service is great... (I actually got married there myself, and everyone was simply wonderful) If I were you, I would make an appointment. The prices are really, really good.

You can absolutely have a mind-blowing wedding for $20,000.00 though, there are lots of ways to give you an expensive look while staying within budget. Really. Smiley smile

The cocktail room there is very nice. The service is great, the banquet managers I dealt with were very, very helpful, and it's easy to get to. That being said, Rachel is right; your date is not in high season, and that might work really well for you.

I was at Falkirk just yesterday, and the inside space is really pretty. It was too cold to actually have the ceremony outside, but they did their pix there, with the waterfalls, etc. It was lovely. I do like their staff too; very, very helpful.
