Define super tight. You're looking at a Saturday night in prime wedding season (yes, memorial day is prime season....)

My BIL got married at the loft at jacks barn but not sure what your budget is. They have a few cheaper caterers than the one they picked. But I think the fire capacity is 120 so you'd have to cut also.

Yeah I don't know if cheap is happening in northern NJ on a peak season Saturday. Also, rustic may be hard to find in that location.

Not saying "rustic" venues don't exist in north NJ, but you'll find a lot of country clubs, ball rooms, banquet halls, hotels, yacht clubs and golf course venues. And none of them are cheap.

They exist. But they're not cheap. We've worked at Jack's Barn dozens of times and it's a great venue, but I don't know that I'd call it cheap.

I don't know that I'd call it a 'diy' venue. You need to bring in a caterer, and the three they recommend are all terrific.

@Gold gotcha. I think we've worked with all the caterers there, and some are more hands on than others. I'd say Frungillo is the most turn-key, but they're all pretty good.

Jack's is one of those 'hey kids, let's put on a show' kinda venues; it is funky, very fun and the owners are terrific to work with. I've had couples bring in tractor trailer trucks full of decor and others who threw a line of mason jars on the farm tables and called it quits. It definitely has a charm all its own, and the guests seem to just love it.

They do have a space to do tenting, but once you get into that in any space, 'budget' is out the window...

I am not sure if it's cheap, but I've been to a wedding at the barn at Perona Farms and it was gorgeous. You can try looking into that, but again I can't tell if you if it's cheap or not ... that really depends on what you define as cheap.

We love the barn at Perona; we're there every month. It's fabulous but it's not cheap.

But OP hasn't bothered to come back and tell us what "cheap" is....

I wouldn't call them cheap, but I thought these somewhat rustic venues were affordable and their menus were reasonable: Farmstead Golf Club, Crystal Springs - Ballyowen, Minerals Hotel (outside area). If you pick Friday or Sunday then the price is less than a Saturday.

I forgot to mention that you could try Cava Winery in Hamburg too if you're open to a winery.

South Jersey has more options for Rustic Venues and the prices can vary depending on where you are. If you are super tied to the date prime season then I would considering looking in SJ, which would be Cherry Hill and Lower

Ballyowen is actually pretty reasonable, and it's gorgeous. Most of the weddings we do there are on Fridays. I think Ballyowen could qualify as rustic.

There is also Valley Crest Farms, in Lebanon, The Raritan Inn (it has a barn), Hird Lake Spa and Camp Rickabear.

But OP will never come back....

South Jersey is going to be more "rustic" friendly- and more budget friendly.

Being said- there is a great restaurant in Warren/Sparta that is very rustic- we were going to book it- but honestly- it was to rustic- I realized I hated it after I mentally threw in the towel on it.

Mohawk- that's what it was- the food was incredible.
