Affordable/ cheap venue ideas in Colorado

Kainzer225, on February 8, 2018 at 3:26 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 0 11
Hi everyone, recently engaged and we are trying to plan a fall wedding in Colorado (west metro area, Lakewood/Golden). I’m a little overwhelmed at the cost of venues! We have a small budget, like as close to $5000 as possible and l am beginning to lose hope that we can find a place to fit 100 people max and has access to bathrooms. I’m looking for any and all ideas! We’re looking into parks because that seems to be the most realistic option, but I’m worried about weather issues since one never knows what will happen in Colorado with the weather! I appreciate all the help!

Some newer recreation centers might be a good option as well. I'm from Denver so I understand, the weather can never decide what it wants to do. My wedding is in April and everyone keeps asking me how the weather will be. We could have a blizzard, it could be 80 degrees, so prepare for both and everything in between lol. Good luck with your venue search!

Also, NOAH's event Center in Westminster might not be bad if you pick a Friday or Sunday date. You can bring in your own food, liquor and décor. We considered this venue during our search, it's gorgeous. The only downside we had was that the bridal suite didn't have it's own restroom. I tend to get nervous and need to use the restroom so I don't want to use the common bathroom before the ceremony and everyone see me lol. But that was my own little quirk.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely have to check those options out! I am with you on the private restroom in the bridal suite, i have the same problem when I get nervous too! Good luck with your wedding in April, fingers crossed the weather holds Smiley smile

Thank you! I actually just thought of another option too. Look into some AirBnBs that might have large backyards and would allow you to host an event, that pricing might not be too bad either.

I thought of that too! Our guest list is hitting 115 but I know there’s at least 20 who won’t come or I’m hoping. A lot of the Airbnbs I come across say no events or parties which in understandable but frustrating!

Hi there, I found some great options before we booked our venue. Do you mind telling me if your entire budget is $5000 or if its $5000 for your venue rental. I just didn't want to give places out of budget! Thanks!

I’m trying not to go over $5000 total for the whole wedding, that’s why we’re looking at parks and cheap/free venues. Thankfully our food is covered by family and a potluck reception, so we can spend more on the venue if we need to.

Ok so here is the research I did.

    http://lionscrestmanor.com

They were affordable when I was looking at pricing this Fall. However I don't see the pricing on the website so I'm not exactly sure if its changed

    http://pubs.hawthornpublications.com/evergreenlakehouse

The Lake house at Evergreen is very affordable BUT I believe you have to use their preferred vendor list. You might still be able to come under budget because the rental costs can be pretty competitive.

    http://www.chapelatredrocks.com/simple.html

Chapel at Red Rocks is pretty affordable but this info is wedding only. Call to see what they suggest for the reception because I believe they know where you could go closely

    https://castlemarne.com/wedding-packages

affordable but only up to 72 guests. Worth a call to ask about additional people

    https://www.connectsworkspace.com/book-a-room

This coworking space in Golden is only $100 an hour. But for 100 people you'd have to stand. But still its so cheap. Its across the street from where we are getting married which is below

Here is where we are getting married: http://www.calvarygolden.net/weddings/

What I love about Calvary Church in Golden is that the have no vendor list and a full kitchen!! You can bring in food from where ever you want. Bonus is that if you use their wedding planner Cori (her info is in the link above) You can use a ton of decorations for free!!! There are some many affordable options here. They do have requirements based on faith so check out the websites (Tell her Cassandra sent you!)

I hope this helps! Blessings of finding the perfect venue soon!

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the help! My sister got married in October and she’s a huge help but her budget was a bit bigger than mine so things that worked for her, aren’t working for us. Half my bridesmaids live out of state so I’m relying on myself, my sister and mom for help. It’s so great to have this forum and other brides from the area to bounce ideas off of! Good luck with your wedding, I’m sure it’ll be a beautiful and blissfully happy day!

Honestly with the dry weather we are having my biggest concern for weddings this summer would be fires not inclement weather. Do you have a date already? I've seen some cool stuff where people book at parks that have covered pavilions and then decorate that! Maybe look up on Lookout Mountain? Just an idea. 😁
