Adult ceremony and reception

Jess, on April 22, 2019 at 2:32 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
When the envelopes are addressed to only the people invited, I know people still want to include their children. We are only have the four little ones involved with the wedding at our wedding and reception. How do you kindly address that it is a adult ceremony and reception. The location is the same for both that's why we are doing it that way. Thanks ladies!

Either on a detail card, or on your wedding website, put something like "adults only event" that lets everyone know. You can also put on your RSVP card "we have reserved ____ seats in your honor," and fill in the number of the guests invited. Like for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids), just write "2" in that space, and they'll get the message that only the adults are invited.

I'd put it on your FAQs on your wedding website then on the RSVP cards put we have reserved __ seats for you and fill it prior to sending!

We're going about this with a multi-prong approach:

    - Addressing the invitation to the adults ONLY

    - Stating X amount of seats will be reserved for your party

    - Stating no kids on the website

    - Slowly leaking the no kids rule to friends and family

I agree. I would put it on your website if you have one and also on the enclosure or RSVP card.

This was how we worded our rsvp's. We wrote the names on the blank lines and the number of seats we had for them.

Hi Jess! How has your RSVPs been going? Have you had any issues with guests including children? What did you end up doing, in the end, to make sure this didn't happen?
