Okay ladies! How much are you budgeting and how much are you expecting to ACTUALLY spend on your entire wedding? I always hear that you go over what you expect to spend. What are the hidden expenses that randomly come up that you don't even think about? I have a pretty good idea of what will be spent on each item and altogether it totals up to be within my desired budget but I know the reality of it all and I can't afford to be too much over that. My parents have made their contribution and would like to help as we get closer but I don't want to ask for anymore money! It's my wedding, not theirsSmiley smile Any input would be very appreciated!

We budgeted 15k and are at about 17k right now. that ebing said mY parents paid for our venue ($3200) and his parents have taken up some additional expenses so realistically WE fell under our 15k budget lol but the wedding itself did not. We also took on a huge cost (paying for our wedding party lodging 6k cabin for a week) so that was not something we budgeted, just something we decided we wanted to do.

Oh haaaaaayy neighbor! We went with Flint Hill in downtown Norcross. It was that or Primrose and Primrose wouldn’t hold all of our guests comfortably, IMO. they are both gorgeous! What did you choose?

They both are! They remind me of The Estate in Buckhead, I loved that place but its like one of the most expensive wedding venues in Atlanta. We choose the Piedmont room in Piedmont Park.

After everything I would say about 23k with honeymoon included. Originally we were thinking it would be about 15k

Wow, 20K for 200 people would be awesome! My FH has certain priorities such as the buffet and open bar, that we decided to splurge on. Overall, we are looking at 18-19K for 75 people for our destination wedding! We did cut the guest count so we could have a nicer venue, better food, open bar etc. So in my opinion, it is all about your priorities! We are cutting our budget on décor, favors, signs, other details that are not as important to us!

Hi Taylor! $20k for 200 people is a good budget! For that guest count Catering is going to be your biggest chunk of your budget. When you meet with your Caterer make sure you ask about Taxes, Service Charges, and Gratuity. These are all factors that send couples over their budget. I also wouldn't expect to spend under $45 per person on Catering for the whole group. I advise my clients to always budget 5% above what they think they are going to spend to account for the "surprise" charges. I would also inquire with your venue to see if they provide linens, china, flatware, glasses etc as rentals for 200 guests will also quickly add up.

My fiancé and I are paying for it ourselves. He is amazing with money and we have a whole spread sheet of what the max we can spend on each category is. We were under for a number of things which let us add on in other areas, and save some too. We allotted $26k and will come in closer to $23k. We live in the Chicago suburbs and are inviting 120 people

    Hi Cindy,

We are very similar, as this is my second go round and I am looking at around $20k for about 65 people. It is pretty much family and close friends and I too just want to bring everyone together to have a good time.

Where I am in planning I'm predicting 5k, but my future mother in-law says I'll only cost 2k... my dress is 641 alone, we definitely aren't getting this wedding under 2k, even with all the DIY stuff we are doing.

I am ALL about the Excel spreadsheets! I have made one with every single detail of our wedding and it has been a huge help in making decisions. What things were you under on?

We are budgeting for 25,000. I expect we will come right under that amount. This figure doesn't include the honeymoon.

My budget was $10k it's looking like we're spending closer to $15k. Caterer costs more than I thought it would but also our venue has a small selection of caterers we have to pick from, I think if it was open to anyone for catering we'd have stayed in budget without a DJ.

Our budget was 8k but it's going to end up around 9 or 10k. I rented the venue an extra day, didn't originally budget for tips, our hotel stay near the venue, or hair and makeup. Oops.

At this point we are going to be over 60k, which is double of our original budget, but I was told by my fiance that I should have everything I want.

Our budget is 10k, and with the way things are looking right now we'll be just under that. Then again, I haven't looked for a dress yet so I may end up going over budget on that because I know I'm going to be picky in how it looks on me. I thought we'd be at about 7k or 8k but I forgot about wedding party & parent gifts, just recently decided on a day-of-coordinator, and also didn't account for how much having my hair done is probably going to cost.
