A question about birdcage veils

Hillary, on April 10, 2010 at 8:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

....does the groom lift it up for the first kiss? Do you wear it after your ceremony? They look really cool but all the pics I see are of the bride looking down. What does it look like on a real person under real conditions?

I am no fashionista Hilary so I don't know how much help I am going to be, but I thought the birdcage only hit to about the bridge of your nose at the longest length. I don't think FH would have to lift it to kiss you, you would just be there. As for wearing it after the ceremony I think that would be your call, just as other brides with longer veils. Do you think you could handle having something like over your eyes all day?

Agree, all the birdcage veils I have seen go to about the nose, so you don't have to lift it.

As i have been to a few weddings this year , the brides that i see have the groom lift the veil back and it is fashioned so that the bride can wear it pulled back and it still looks lovely or the take it off and just wear the hair accessory that was attached to the veil, hence feather, flower or barrette !

Yeah, I just haven't seen what it looks like when it is pulled back and am curious if anyone has pics of them in their birdcage veil, pulled back? I really like the concept....may hide some wrinkles lol and soften the look. When I tried dresses on with the traditional veil I did not feel good, it didn't feel like me. I go "official" dress shopping in 2 weeks, and am planning on trying on a birdcage veil to see if that suits me better.
