A good alternative to throwing rice, blowing bubbles...or whatever else

Brandi ♥'s Chris, on May 5, 2011 at 2:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 27

I found these on etsy for those of you looking for something a little different and unique as you are exiting the ceremony.

Pretty and safe for the birds! Plus you won't be shaking out grains from your hair!

@Hayley - I love those tinsel wands! I'm googling how to make them, they would look great in a picture!

Oh wow, the tinsel wands are a great idea! I don't know about the sparklers, I would be terrified of my drunken guests with sparklers in their hands and my dress, lol.

@stephanie - I'm not crazy about sparklers for that same reason, I had an immature boy "joking" around with his and he put it way to close to my hair..ughh...i wanted to kill him.

We made ribbon wands in our wedding colors. They were easy to make, a lot of guests kept them as favors, and they're awesome in photos. Sorry - this is the best pic I have handy.

We had our guests release balloons as we came out of the church.

or worse....It was a warm 90 degrees when we were married 24 yrs ago. The birdseed STUCK to our necks and exposed skin! Yuck!!

I love the tinsil wands. You get the look of the sparklers but with added safety!!

That's a great idea! I've been at a loss because we are having our wedding on a wildlife refuge. Tons of birds and deer.

@ Mrs. In Septepmber- If you have the money to make two sets of them.. do one of your wedding colors for daytime and the other color night maybe?

Hmmmm....if you do the ribbons as exiting...could recycle them into centerpieces by simply putting eight or ten in vase on table...maybe? In my case...ceremony and reception same place...but we may "exit" for pictures in front of fountain...etc. just thinking out loud....

Oregon - I use my leftover wands as centerpieces pretty often - this was from a recent cookout (yes, my Christmas tree is STILL up).
