All inclusive people. Book all inclusive, cause this historic/rustic/Pinterest wedding bullshit is just that. It's all bullshit and it ain't cheap and it's 100 times more work.

Katherine - Your comment adds no value to anything here. Seriously. Stop.

Awww MrsBest - That sucks, it really does. Just breathe, and try to remember that at the end of the day, you will be married. Dumpster or not.

Remember when we started down this journey and thought -- "nah, we have plenty of time!" - Now we are down to, "Holy shit - we get married in 50 days!" Hugs, it is going to be okay.

What about one of those WM Bagsters? I got one when we took down a shed. You buy it at someplace like Home Depot, then schedule a pick up. It was maybe $150 total. The challenge I see is it being a public place while mine was on my own property.

Good Luck, at the end of the day, you'll still be married no matter what you do.

@Katherine- Where OP thought the trash would go is with the caterer. They usually take care of that. She just found out that hers is not. Hence the vent. And the need to rent a dumpster.

MrsBest- It sucks you have to add yet another expense to your long list of expenses. Focus on your day. It will be awesome. Hugs!

Katherine I assumed my caterer or maybe the building I'm paying thousands of dollars to would know what to do with it without me having to deal with it.

Thanks Kimi I'll look into that. FH has a pick up so I'm wondering if we can find something that'll fit back there.

Edit: I can see it now the bride and groom leave their wedding with a just married sign and a trunk full of garbage lol

Your completely over reacting. Renting a unit is a complete simple task and not that expensive.

Ugh, your caterer has worked with your venue before and should have known this.

Wait, does renting a dumpster also include the service of the dumpster people setting it up and then removing it along with the trash? I hope so! I'm sorry you have to deal with this BTW.

Part of the issue here is that the venue has made a major change in management and the new people seem to have no respect for what used to be the norm there. For what it's worth, I catered there several times and garbage was never an issue.

BUT I worked in many sites that made us take the garbage with us, and this should be the caterer's issue, not yours. Weddings really don't create that much garbage, even if you're using disposables. Maybe 3-5 big bags that the caterer should take with them and put in their own dumpster. This shouldn't be your problem. It's theirs.

For what it's worth, Scully's makes purple ones. Maybe you can add it to your registry? (sorry ;-D)

I'm really surprised the caterer didn't address this before now, and that they can't take their own garbage. I would have expected the caterer to do that anyway. Food prep, set up, service, and clean up are standard from a full service caterer

You are. Either make the catering company do it because it's in the contract you signed with them regarding the venue or handle it yourself. It is a part of party planning and that's exactly what this is. So I quite frankly can't see why this is such a blow out reaction. It's a dumpster. Call them up. Say I need it for one day. Drop it in x day. Pick it up on y.

    Boom. Done.

Jacqui "Food prep, set up, service, and clean up are standard from a full service caterer" AGREE!!!

Lol Celia, purple will clash with my wedding colors! Smiley winking

The place they recommended is open on Monday, so I'll call then and see what's up. If it ends up being too much, the garbage bags are going in the back of my brother's truck. Done. I mean I'm only having about 90 guests. Throw in the vendors we're at maybe 100. A whole dumpster seems a little much, the website said they only have the larger ones (for demolition). That's overkill.
