800$ budget and a nye wedding

Zappedagain123119, on July 20, 2019 at 3:27 AM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 11
I'm having 25 guests for a nye party/vow renewal celebration. I want to incorporate some Christmas elements and do this on an 800 budget. I'm making the food and cake myself. Making the cake topper and some of the items for tables. As well as in painting the invites I'm sending. Any other tips? Anyone getting married NYE

Oh my gosh this sounds good because Nye would mean you could definitely hit up after Xmas sales to get some good things

For a New Year’s Eve wedding I would expect a high level of hosting. A lot of good food as well as an open bar. $800 will be tough.

I think since you are making the cake and food yourself and it's only 25 people. it will be fine. What's on the menu

I coupon for everything and I have a soft pile of stuff to make food and do the things that I want to do and I am only having 25 guests so the alcohol the food and the decorations so far that I'm planning is about $350 and the rest is going to be for dresses and makeup and hair and all that but it would probably be cheaper if I had my own place to host it I want to host it at my house or his mom's house but we're waiting on the answer

Is this NYE during the day? This honestly sounds very summer lunch BBQ more than an evening wedding on a holiday where people usually go all out.

I think a classic holiday meal would suit the theme better—where I live whole turkeys and hams go on sale after Christmas. You could have two for 25 people and then stuffing (can make from a package), mac and cheese or mashed potatoes (can make and then keep warm in a crock pot), green bean casserole (easy for a crowd), salad...I don't think this all would be that much more expensive than $350 for 25 and would be much more elegant and on theme. Or, as commonly recommended here, Italian is cheap and easy for a crowd but still classy—lasagnas made in advance, garlic bread, crockpot meatballs in sauce...

Nothing wrong with boxed wine to keep alcohol cheap!
