8 months pregnant on wedding day?

Cam, on December 11, 2018 at 9:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 13
Good morning , I'm currently pregnant and the wedding is May 2019 which I'll be 8 months by then. I can't decide if I should cancel and have something smaller sooner or wait until after baby. If I have someone sooner I feel so rushed because I have not decided, if I wait , I don't know how long. I am all over the place. Anyone have similar situation ??? What did you do ?

Do whatever makes you and your FS happy! The only thing that would make me want to change it is that you'll probably be completely exhausted at 8 months and won't want to be up running around and socializing all day long! Would you consider having a small, intimate ceremony now and a larger celebration once baby is here?

Oh see now that would work. I keep thinking I'll be too tired to get thru the whole day. Thank you

I don't blame you! Most couples are exhausted on/from their wedding day anyway, let alone trying to grow a human! I think that would be a great option for you guys. It would be super sweet to have your new nugget there for the celebration.

I don’t know if you’ll be physically up to having a wedding when you’re that far into your pregnancy. A wedding is a long day and your body may not be able to allow you to really enjoy the day because you’ll be uncomfortable.

It is completely up to you and your FI.

8 months is far enough along that I personally would be nervous. I have had several friends go into labor early and it would be one more thing for me to stress about. You know your body better than I do though. Smiley smile

Do whatever makes you happySmiley heart Though, if it were me in your shoes I'd cancel or get married sooner (courthouse) because after the baby comes you're going to be too busy to plan a wedding.

Hi Cam! Welcome to WeddingWire, congrats on your engagement, and pregnancy! Smiley heart

You received some great feedback here in this thread! I agree, doing what you're most comfortable with is key. Having a smaller ceremony in May and then a bigger celebration once the baby is here is definitely an option. Especially if you're worried about it being such a long day when you're that far along in your pregnancy. Smiley heart

Which ever way you choose, your wedding is going to be absolutely lovely and we are so excited for you to say "I do!"

Congrats on the upcoming baby! I would do a small intimate wedding sooner like the PP said and have a big reception/vow renewal after the baby is here. When I was 8 months pregnant there was no way I would have had the energy for a wedding as the bride. Plus there's a chance the baby could make it's appearance at 8 months.
