7 Hour Venue Rental

Bailey, on June 7, 2020 at 4:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hello!

My Fiance and I have our venue for 7 hours the day of our wedding. We will have about 75 guests and the decorations/set-up/tear down is all included. Is this enough time?

What would be the ideal timeline for a November wedding if we only have the venue for 7 hours?

Thank you!

It gives you a 5 hour wedding. You would need imo AT LEAST 1 hour set up and clean up. Are you doing all the decor yourself or do you have a vendor or team?

All of the decor is done by the venue! So I do not have to worry about it.

I don’t think it’s enough time unless the venue can get it set up ahead of time

The main thing is knowing how long it takes the venue to set up/teardown. But, outside of that, all you really need is about four or five hours. You can allot 30 minutes for the ceremony (even though on average they’re only about 15 to 20 minutes). That still leaves you enough time for cocktail hour (if you’re doing that) and then 3-4 hours for the reception. That’s definitely long enough to eat, dance and celebrate with 75 guests.

It would not be enough time if set-up and tear down were not included, but seven hours should be more than enough if your venue is handling set up and tear down. For a November wedding, I would opt for an earlier start time, maybe around 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm. Aim for a short 30 minute ceremony, one hour cocktail hour, and the rest of the time can be put towards your reception. Are you thinking of having a first look?

I think that’s fine then if you mean the seven hours doesn’t include the time of set up and clean up by the venue. If so it’s plenty cause an average reception is 4-5 hours long and a ceremony is anywhere from half an hour typically and then if you want cocktail hour in between it works out! But I would then figure out where you’re gonna get ready

If seven hours doesn't include stepping up and tearing down then I think your fine.

This is totally fine! Since they're doing the set up/take down it's definitely plenty of time. Our timeline is only 5.5 hours from the start of the ceremony to the end of the reception, so you would have time at the beginning for a first look and pictures!
