Hi friends, Is a 6 year old too old for a flower girl? I informally asked a relative to have her daughter be our flower girl immediately after getting engaged without really thinking about it. Then my mom mentioned she might be too old by the time we get married. She'll turn 6 two months before we wed. How old is too old?

Personally, I like I itty bitty flowers girls. Like 3 or 4 years old. They're just so adorable at that age. BUT there is a higher chance of them having a meltdown or being too scared to actually toss the flowers. It's a gamble with toddlers. A 6 year old would definitely be more reliable.

I'm having a six year old and a ten year old. Then ten year old couldn't be more excited about it. Especially when she tried on her dress. She said she feels like a princess.

I think it's a great age! I actually wish I still had a grandma (because I miss them so much it hurts but also) to ask to be a flower girl. I saw a picture on pinterest and it made my heart constrict.

I'm having 3 flower girls who will be 6, 8 and 10. I thought 10 might be on the border of being too old so I gave her the choice to be a junior bridesmaid but she wanted to be a flower girl. No problem.

Not too old. I have four flowers girls. The youngest is 7 and the oldest is 12.

I don't think so at all. My FH daughter will be 8 at the time of our wedding and she is excited to be the flower girl, my son will be 8 also and excited about being the ring bearer.

6 is perfect! We had three 6 year olds in ours. They were old enough to understand what to do and how to behave, but still young enough to not pitch a foot about the white dress, socks, and shoes Smiley smile

6 is a great age ... I also think it depends on the child ... my 9 year old was big at 6 looked almost 8 .. she looks 11 or 12 now ... I'm a sucker for tiny flower girls though ... I have 3 daughters 9 ,6 , and 7 months they will be 10, 8 and 2 at my wedding so my baby will be my flower girl ( I don't care about a fit , if she runs to daddy , dances ) my older two (from previous relationship will be giving me away

My flower girl is 10. Asked her if she wanted to be a flower girl or bridesmaid. She said she wants to be a flower girl but a bridesmaid sounds like fun so she wasn't sure. So I told her she could still be a flower girl but I'll have her wear the same color the bm's are wearing.
