Hi friends, Is a 6 year old too old for a flower girl? I informally asked a relative to have her daughter be our flower girl immediately after getting engaged without really thinking about it. Then my mom mentioned she might be too old by the time we get married. She'll turn 6 two months before we wed. How old is too old?

My daughter will be 6 at my wedding and she can't wait to be a flower girl.

My younger niece will be 4 and my older niece will have just turned 7 by our wedding day. The older one is SO excited to be a flower girl...the little one is ambivalent. So I think it's a perfect age!

One of my sorority sisters had her and her FH's grandmas as the flower girls. I don't think there is an age limit on these things.

    I was a FG in my aunt's wedding when I was 9. I don't think 6 is too old.

Lol my flower girl is 8. Honey, you asked because they are important to you and that's all that really matters.

6 is perfect imo. My fg is two and while I love her dearly, there's definitely a chance she can be shy or fussy when the time comes to walk down. When my mom was getting married she had my sister who was two at the time be her fg. My sister cried the whole way down the aisle

6 is great! We will have 3 FGs. 6, 4 and 3... the 4 and 3 year old might go rogue hahaha. I know the 6 year old will do it right lol. We're very seriously considering bribing the younger ones with candy to get them to walk down haha.

OMG - how horrifying would it be to be expecting to be a flower girl and then be told that, at age SIX, you are now too old for that honor??? Welcome to womanhood, kiddo! We go stale at four now!

She'll be 100% fine. Please don't bump her.

@Delfina LOL! Right?! My FG is 22, what will her mom think of that!?

Age 6 is a great age, like pp said, for all the reasons they said.

I don't think it's too old that will be the age of my flower girl too. I think it's a great age because they are so excited to have a roll in the wedding and they get to feel like a little princess! At least that's how mine feels she calls herself the flower princess and takes her roll so seriously. It's adorable Smiley smile

That's the perfect age. To me, the best ages are between 5-10. When I get married my flower girl will either be 5, 6, or 10.
