4th of july wedding 🇺🇸

Cristina, on November 29, 2018 at 4:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
I'm considering a beach wedding on the 4th of july (I know I'm nuts) I'm just thinking how nice it would be to have nice weather everybody would be off work for the holiday anyway and free fireworks! And the anniversary would be extremely easy to remember.. but I'm in Florida I could imagine how crazy things would be on a holiday notorious for bbq's and beaching help me out peeps I'm running out of time 😭

Do the beaches get super crowded during that week near you? I know in the Philly area the beaches are packed that week and it might be hard for guests to find accommodations unless they live close and can go home after. Maybe do it the weekend before or after, you might get a better RSVP rate especially if July 4th falls on a weekday that year.

I'm assuming the beach would be unbelievably packed. Plus people would be running, screaming, drunk, etc. on the beach probably interrupting your wedding? In some states, you have to pay to get a permit to set up on the beach too. And holiday weekends make everything more expensive.

Yes I think beaches will be packed and vendors will be on holiday. Plus t

everything will be rented out. It is also a popular time for family vacations.

Hi Cristina! Smiley heart I really love the idea but like you mentioned, it may be a little crazy being a big holiday beach weekend in Florida. However, it could still be doable depending where you want to get married! Smiley heart Are you looking to get married and have your reception right on the beach? Or are you open to looking at different venues that might have more private options?

If its really important to you you can make it work. We're getting married on Christmas Eve, and it has been CHALLENGING at times, but I'm really looking forward to the wedding.

But if we just doing it because it was a good weekend and we knew people would be off work, I would be kicking my self at this point, because there are plenty of people who can't come because of family obligations and traditions, a lot of which you'll run in to on 4th of July as well.

The beach in Florida in July is going to be brutally hot and extremely uncomfortable for your guests.

Guest accommodations might be few and far between but if that is what you want go for it. Also would the city allow beach wedding on that day? I know some states are picky about that.
    Good luck!

I would look into like renting a beach house. You could still get the beach and fireworks but also a bit of private space as well.

I think the only way it'll work is if you rent out somewhere private. You don't want a whole bunch of drunken college students screaming and hollering anywhere near your wedding. That would def bother me. And if they find out there's a wedding nearby and they're drunk who knows what they'll want to do as a prank or whatever. Also, just cause it's 4th of July doesn't necessarily mean there'll be fireworks wherever you decide to get married.

We're getting married on July 7, 2019, a holiday weekend and a Sunday! We fell in love with the idea after a venue tour guide asked about that weekend when putting together a proposal. Our first plan was the 5th but we took too long making our decision (making sure the 5th or 7th was ok for all our VIPs) so we went for our #2 date. I'm super excited!

I agree with what others have said that the beaches will likely be a madhouse but more private locations could be great. Just keep in mind there tend to be upcharges for anything on directly holidays.
