4th of July wedding-more expensive? NEED HELP!

Michelle, on April 3, 2013 at 1:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Hello there! I am thinking of having my wedding July 4, 2014. Do any of you know if vendors charge more for that day (since it is a holiday)?

My vendor has not charged more since it's July 4th. It's actually cheaper compared to a Saturday evening wedding, since it's on a Friday next year.

My best guess is that it will depend on the vendor. Some charge more for holidays (missing out on their own family activities, etc.), but those who don't mind probably won't. It's always best to shop around and get a few quotes, and then meet with your favorite 2 or 3.

We are getting married July 3, and I have actually been able to get a few discounts since it's on a Wednesday. But I'm not sure if I would have been given the same discount if it was July 4th. I would just call a couple vendors that you are intersted in and ask them for a quote for July 4th and for a different random Friday, since July 4th falls on a friday in 2014. good luck!

Some places might give a discount because it's not a Saturday as Nicole said. Others may not want to do a wedding that day or charge extra. If you have a few vendors you like just talk to them.

Thanks for the input! So, I know what the venue would cost, but I was thinking more about the photography, transportation, DJ, etc. I'm guessing that it would be different depending on the vendor.

Yes, different depending on the vendor. My DJ and photographer have not charged me any extra since it's a holiday. My makeup artist is charging me just a little extra since it's a holiday. I have no idea if my officiant will charge me any extra, since I haven't started looking just yet. Again, it depends on the vendor.

We were able to get the Friday prices on our wedding even though it is the holiday. Most of our vendors charged us the regular prices (some even offered us a cheaper Friday price as opposed to a Saturday price,) but there were a few that were going to charging extra for the holiday (but of course those people got booted anyway.)

I'm getting married 7/6 and nothing cost us any more because it was a holiday weekend. I did look at a Mariott and they offered me a discount if I chose another weekend as opposed to full price on the 6th. I think the 4th fo July isn't a day that people typically go somewhere, but its nice because they're definitely off. Also it will be a Friday so you have a long weekend. The only thing I would consider is, if you have a lot of out of town guests, they may have to pay more to travel in for the wedding. I have only had one person complain about that, though. So its not a huge issue.

    Hi all,

I want to have a July4th wedding (2014) but all the places I have called are giving me the same price as Saturdays for the Friday.i don't have enough guests

to justify the minimum requirements for these places for Sats.I'm looking

for something indoor/outdoor. I like the golf course ideas..i appreciate your feedback..If you can't specify a vendor here, you can email me at **********@*****.***

    cheers
