Ok...I have a PhD in Immunology- while is possible that we have those "toxins", they have not be correlated to weight gain or loss. BPA can cause cancer...after putting 3 million gallons of water in your system contaminated w BPA. So, Im sure you are safe there specially since they eliminated BPA from plastic year ago.

Believe what you want to believe but I need to see Hard and peer reviewed data to agree. Again- it's your body and you do whatever you want to it

    Formaldehyde- negligible.

    https://www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/ScienceResearch/ucm349473.htm

    Mercury/Arsenic

naturally occurring- negligible unless you are eating literally VATS of tuna daily.

(I'm not evening googling that- because it's part of my job to test arsenic in dredged materials and dredged material is considered a natural resource but it's also regulated- i.e. we test it- and we can place like on like- it's naturally occurring and minimal)

BPA- it's in plastics- where the hell are you getting BPA out of coffee and sugar?

It can cause problems- but you aren't eating it- it's mostly an issue if you MICROWAVE containers that aren't cleared to be microwaved- otherwise you have to physically eat it.

DDT was cancelled in 1972 by the EPA.

It is still used in Africa to help control malaria.

Flame Retardants? WTF? in your coffee? in your sugar? what are you doing huffing it? where are you getting that chemical in your daily life at levels that will cause you risk?

    Phthalates

"It's not clear what effect, if any, phthalates have on human health. "

Related to the whole master cleanse, that salt water drink it actually hypertonic Epsom salts dissolved in warm water and it is supposed to flush you out so don't drink and dash for work unless you want to cramp up.

Some people are really salty but they have brought up good points. As a certified health coach I can tell you that detoxes are a complete myth. Absolutely. Your body does that naturally. If you want to "detox" of certain things, stop consuming them, and your body will work them out. Drinking special drinks will not get them out any faster. And there is nothing wrong with deciding to eat clean and exercise, we all need that and so that should be encouraged as a lifestyle. But crash dieting and overtraining is what is concerning. 1200 calories a day is not nearly enough for a person unless you're a 6 year old child. So just make sure you don't let yourself starve and don't be injuring yourself in attempts to achieve any goals! Whatever progress you make, whether it be losing a few pounds or getting rid of cravings for caffeine and sugar, should be celebrated! And to anyone else who is planning on doing something like a 30 day challenge a month before the wedding, I'll tell you now to forget that and just start making healthier food choices and start exercising right now. There are thousands of free work out plans, ideas, and videos online. You can even find lots of advice for healthy eating and recipes online. Don't give your money to a stranger on the internet, if you want to get direct plans from a professional than get a personal trainer and/or visit a nutritionist!

@Prison Mike - I think she was trying to imply that the Black Plague could have been avoided if mankind knew about the Master Cleanse.
