Sounds like a good plan-- best of luck with it! Lots of judgement on here, but in all actuality this challenge sounds like nothing more than creating a caloric deficit buy restricting food intake and swapping carbs and sugary breakfast and snack foods for a "detox" drink and smoothies.

Challenges are a way people are able to better track progress and have an actual end-goal than just saying "I'm going on a diet," then falling short a week or two later. No harm there.

I keep looking at myself in my dress the day I picked it and that's motivation enough to try and eat right and exercise daily...gotta lose this belly as mermaid gowns are not forgiving :/

The last program I did was Ben Pakulski's MI40. I'm sure I'll be fine with this one ;-) It's a lot simpler.

I don't normally eat breakfast at all, so adding a protein shake as I run out the door is probably a good thing as it will boost my metabolism for the rest of the day. It's not a substitute for me, it's a new meal! She actually has breakfast recipes, I just chose to do a protein shake because I really don't have time to cook in the morning.

Thank you for your support guys - I know they say nothing new before the wedding, but honestly I'm not stressed out at all about the wedding. I'm more stressed about the summer, what I'm going to do with the kids while they're out of school, all the events we have going on AFTER the wedding...if I can get myself feeling better before all that happens, I'll be in a good place. And like I said, I'm going to continue with it afterwards.

I would not save any money with a gym membership, I HAD a gym membership for $40/month and I never had time to go. Half the time the daycare was full, so I would get there only to turn around and leave. So I spend $480 to go to the gym 3 or 4 times...or I can spend $47 one time and workout at home. I'll take the latter!

    Absolutely. I 100% hear you.

(I just well- I'm an engineer- and dealing in absolutes can be troubling to me LOL- like it CAN be done- under circumstances- most of which won't be met by folks who are interested in 30 day challenges- but the truth is... it can be done- I just ahhhh sorry- couldn't help myself LMAO)

But yes- you are 100% correct.

I don't do body weight work (I mean I do for quick HIIT workouts)- I want to lift weights. Body made by powerlifting if you will. I have a hard time working out at home- and I like the atmosphere at the gym.

@Olivia- I agree w what you are saying. I'm like you- rather be outside or getting yelled at during a class. However, we don't know the OP schedule. I know people that do good w fitness on demand at home, they eat clean and never go to a gym. However, it depends on how motivated you are and if you want it to be a change in your life not just "because Im getting married and want to look skinny on the pic".

It take 2-3 weeks to make a change "stick", so maybe this program will kick start something for the long-run.

Not for nothing, and I certainly appreciate those of you who are telling me to use caution, but I know what I'm doing.

Yes, "detoxing" is a thing and it's not just about your liver not working. If you drink coffee, eat sugar, or any processed foods, you have TOXINS in your body. You don't need to go to a hospital. But they are there, causing inflammation, every day. It's why we get sick, why we have allergies, why we see diseases. I'm not saying detoxing is a cure for anything, but I certainly believe that doing my best to get those toxins out of my body a couple times a year will be beneficial to my overall, long-term health.

And I'm not going to get into my metabolic number and the exact formula I follow to see how many carbs/proteins/fats I need to eat each day, but I'll just say it's precise and based on my current body composition. I may not be a "professional" - because I don't do this for a living - but I know my stuff.

So again, I appreciate the support and those who are cautionary, but don't worry, I'll be just fine.

I really want to know now what did you actually get for $47.00. Let me guess, you get placed in a private FB group, you received a 1 page 1200 calorie diet plan with shopping list, and a workout schedule. While $47.00 is a small amount she could easily have 500 clients paying $47.00 bucks and making a big load of money off of 2 PDF documents that are not customized.

We get allergies because our body over reacts to a foreign substance like pollen. That's science.

It has nothing to do with inflammation from eating certain foods.

ETA: I mean, disease/sickness/allergies are things that happened before coffee and processed foods existed.

    FFS there's some overreaction here!

OP, I think what you're doing sounds great. I understand wanting to feel your best in your dress and on your honeymoon! It sounds like you're looking for a little tune up with your body, not hoping for a miracle lol. I personally will be dieting up to the very minute I walk down the aisle!

Unless you have a peanut or shellfish allergy- anaphylaxis...

OP- do whatever you think is best. Getting the metabolic number is not that hard and it works. I know because i have the exact ratio before I do a long run or marathon, and I dont bunk. I look into my resting number and since im injured (no running or anything using my foot) I haven't gain a single pound. My body comp change a bit, but I'm working at it. Just saying

@Z-Runner I meant inflammation in the way she's describing it, but yes.

@joRocka. She will say Blood Urea Nitrogen which is naturally occurring and is only elevated in dehydrated states and stage 4/5 CKD

There is a theory I learned nutrition call years ago that it is believed there is a whole series of midmolecule substances that are linked to autoimmune disease that can't be measured.

OP, I agree with others. A month before your wedding is bad timing. I'm all for aiming to eat healthier and move more.

BUT you don't need detox drinks for that. What exactly about the combination of lemon water, cayenne and maple is detoxifying? HOW does it make that occur in the body? And exactly what toxins are you trying to get rid of?

If you can't answer those questions, then it's probably not worth your time. And you're just needlessly adding the calories/sugar of the maple syrup to your diet.

    Toxins found in the body:

    Formaldehyde

    Mercury & Arsenic

    BPA

    PCB's and DDT

    Pesticides used on our food

    Flame Retardants

    Phthalates

    Teflon

    Etc etc.

They have done blood testd on babies and found toxins used on our planet that were outlawed decades ago, because of the half-life of the chemical. Seriously, how are we even debating this???

What I got for $47 lol...ok I'll bite. I got 4 weeks of meal plans, 4 meals per day with recipes (so that's 112 individual recipes, because she offers alternatives for vegetarians), shopping lists for each week of meals, 5 workout videos per week, and yes, access to an accountability group. All that means I don't have to think about anything - I don't have to come up with my own recipes or ideas for 3 meals a day, I don't have to think about what I'm going to do at the gym, I don't have to worry about what I'm going to do with my kids while I'm at the gym... $47 is a steal for that, simply because it makes my life easier. I have 2 kids, a job, and 2 businesses with my fiance and I just wanted something simple, that I could follow from home, that would make me feel better. I'm not looking to be in a fitness show!

I'm not sure why so many of you are so concerned about why I'm doing this...it's actually kind of funny.

Look, I answered the question. I am done now. I'm at work, and got myself sucked into this vortex of negativity. Enjoy the rest of your day being negative, and I'll enjoy the rest of mine knowing what I know to be true.

But it isn't true. It's science fiction. Like, you can believe it if you want, but it's not proven science.
