3 ring beaers 3 flower girls....HELP?!?!

Diana, on October 16, 2016 at 5:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

I need some ideas for the ring bearers, they are 4, do they have to carry something or can they just be paired up with the Flower Girls?!?

Pair them up! We're skipping bridesmaids and doing two flower girls 2 ring bearers and a sign holder.

You DO NOT need 3 and 3. I, honestly think it's tacky and too much. If you're going to do the 3 and 3 yes I would pair them up with a flower girl and have them walk down in three pairs of two. Or all flower girls together and all ring bearers together but honestly I think 3 and 3 is ridiculous. My personal opinion. To narrow it down I could choose the oldest or the ones you're closest to and have the bigger bond with.

Kristina why is it tacky? It truly doesn't matter so I don't understand how a number of FG and RB could be tacky...

Is there a reason why you are having 3 ring bearers and 3 flower girls? It is a little unusual after all. Just genuinely curious.

I'm having 2 and 2. All four are children of groomsmen. I didn't feel like we could just pick two of them because they are all our "nieces" and "nephews." I'm also having two junior bridesmaids and two older boys light the candles before the ceremony. 3 of the older kids are a former nanny family of mine and the other is FH's actual nephew. FH and I love children and he is older so most of his friends have kids. It works for us. We're just sending all four of the little kids down the aisle together because it will be cute!!

Don't know why children would be tacky, Kristina? Yikes.

We are having 3 and 3 as well because, well, kids are adorable! I'm happy to have a bunch of kids be a part of our day. We're having them all carry baskets: girls will have baskets of petals to scatter and boys will have daisies to hand to women seated on the aisle end of the pews. It may take a while for them to get down the aisle, but I'm happy to have just a few more moments with my dad waiting to walk down the aisle!

Lindsey, I think it's tacky and unnecessary. I also think holding up signs saying "here comes the bride" is tacky. They know the bride is coming and they'll stand when they hear the music. It also drags on ceremony. It would look weird to me. Having to match up three flower girl dresses with the brides gown (they could all wear the same one but that would still look tacky, in my honest opinion) It's more kids to look after and make sure they know what they're doing during the ceremony. Adds more stress imho.

I don't have any ring bearers... no nephews...all flower girls.... two 7 year olds, 5yr old, 4 yr old, 2 yr old 1 yr old.... don't care if it's too many... they are all mine and FH nieces! We want them in our wedding.. they will walk in pairs. They won't all be tossing flowers or anything or holding signs , they will simply walk down before me. I can't imagine or wedding without them. They are my world.

ETA::: I also only have a moh and one bridesmaid... not a huge bridal party

FH and I have 2 nephews each. We didn't want to pick and choose so we will have 4 ring bearers (no flower girls). We're giving them bubble guns for when they walk down the aisle!

I don't think there's anything wrong with having that many (I don't know why it would be "tacky"). I think pairs would be really nice. Also, I love the idea of bubble guns, how cute would that be!?

Kristina, calling children tacky is absolutely ridiculous.

My cousin had three and three and the kiddos were adorable. I had two and two and all four kids were well behaved and beyond cute. There was no stress regarding them and the ceremony didn't drag on due to the children.

OP, I think it would be cute to pair them up and let them walk down the aisle that way!

@Britny the bubble guns sound adorable!!

As long as you are prepared for the eventuality that one of the kids will start to get antsy (I've got moms and grandmas stationed in the front row) and aren't uptight about the possibility of crying or that they won't do it at the last minute, I think kids are great!! They only make the wedding cuter.
