2Nd Anniversary Photo Session

OldSchoolKindaLove, on February 26, 2020 at 5:10 PM Posted in Married Life 1 4

Has anyone done a 2nd Anniversary Photo Session?

I think most couples do this for their First Anniversary, but due to circumstances we didn't "celebrate" a 1st Anniversary. I thought about doing a small vow renewal, but after discussions, we decided to wait until 5 or 10 years instead so we could have it at the beach with a few family and friends. As it stands, we don't have any wedding photos from our wedding that we love much less like, long story.

For those of you who have done a photo shoot after your wedding, what advice do you have? Did you go all out, hair, makeup, nails, etc. How did you choose a location for your photos? (Our original wedding venue isn't an option for photos after my honest review. ) So we are trying to determine and plan ahead instead of waiting until the last minute. Any and all advice is appreciated.

We haven't done anniversary photos and I'm not sure we will. I assume the next ones we will take will be maternity photos (whenever that is). But before we got engaged, we took some outside in the snow, some for our college graduation & for my husband getting out of the military, and some for our engagement photos. For the ones in the snow, I got my hair & makeup professionally done. My nails are always done regardless what we are doing, and I picked specific outfits out for each to compliment each other. Since you don't have any wedding photos you like, I'd go all out!

I haven’t done anniversary photos but I will say choosing a location in general depends on what you’re close to like if you’ve got a beach nearby go for it or some lovely gardens!

I have facebook friends who take an anniversary photo each year.
As for us, I doubt we will have many photoshoots in the future unless we choose to adopt.

Unfortunately we don't have any beaches close. That's why we are planning a vow renewal at 5 or 10 years. When we got engaged I wanted a beach wedding, my lifelong dream since I was a kid, but living 6-7 hours away from the beach, my husband's family said they wouldn't be able to attend a wedding more than a max of 2 hours away from home. Therefore we compromised and had our wedding close to home so his family would attend. Looking back I wish we would have stuck to our original plan instead of allowing family to influence our decisions, but that's the purpose of a vow renewal. We can decide what we want, invite who we want, and even if no one shows up it's still going to be an amazing joyous memory for us!
