2022 Brides what is your thought on Favors?

I have a lot of people telling me not to worry about favors. I also saw a couple of tiktoks with past brides saying their guest did not care about the favors! I am sooo torn, not knowing if I should spend the money on it or not. Let me know your thoughts? I need some advise.

I personally think it is a personal opinion to do favors. However since I am having a small wedding with only close family and friends (under 50 people) I am doing favors for mine. I found a site that I love calling esty.com and have gotten most all mine from them. They support small businesses and the stuff is nice and cost effective for my needs.

Forego personalized favors if you’re going to do them unless they’re edible. Ppl don’t want a trinket with another couples names and dates on them. I’m just going to do wine stoppers with a cute ceramic top on them relevant to my theme/the area.

We put our money into alcohol and food and not favors no one will use. So your good if you don’t follow that tradition.

My quick response is to skip favors!
    -waste of $
-usually have to buy way too many to get a good deal-who needs another wedding magnet, coozie (sp), candy, soap, etc-packaging might be extra expense-usually have remaining leftovers
Instead if you feel inclined, spend the $ on simple handwritten thank you notes and postage 😉

Hi there. I'm not doing wedding favors, but I did decide on a centerpiece for each table that a guest can have at the end of the night or when they leave. I was at a wedding one time where they had these beautiful centerpieces. They had everyone stand up, someone pulled out a dollar and played the game like musical chairs. If the dollar ended up in your hand, you sat down. Last one standing got to take the centerpiece home. Thus, I decided to do that for my wedding instead of favors. Good luck! Tough decision!

    Hi stacy,

I personally think favors are wasteful. "dust bunny collectors" is what i like to call them. their are very few people in your life that will want to hold on to the memories of your wedding and those are probably the only people you should get favors for and even with that its like, "take the center piece" you know? I personally am doing "morning after" treat boxes. lols. which will be filled with things guest can eat as breakfast or brunch the morning after the wedding or as a late night snack. weddings are expensive, we have to save where we can girl! In all fairness, we have all been guests to some sort of event and we all enjoy a good favor. With that being said, how long do we actually keep a non functional favor? non the less, a favor with a photo or a name? i would stick to edible favors or if you really really want to do them, ones that serve a use in peoples everyday lives; although it's not at all necessary in my honest opinion.

    You can def. skip them!

We got custom drink koozies made with our name and wedding date on one side, and our dog's face on the other. We know our crowd and knew they'd use them after the wedding. I want to say we ordered around 150, and had 120 show up the day of. We only took home 20 koozies so we view our favors as a win and not a waste of money!

I have no desire to do favors whatsoever but what I did purchase our corsages for all of my female guests that are important to me and that’s as far as I can stretch with regards to sentimental things from our wedding. Somehow I felt that people would be more excited by the food that we spent a fortune on as well as the alcohol. To me that’s the best party favor of all!

I am another vote for edible favors - I am doing cookies - packages of 3 wrapped in wedding colors. This may people may munch then after the night is winding down.

    I wish wedding favors weren’t a thing / tradition 😂
But I did feel like I needed to do something small at least! So I did wedding bottle openers shaped as a key. “Thanks for being a key part of our lives.” Kind of thing. But I kept it cheap..

We’re doing the vintage bottle openers just like those! We’re attaching to the bubble wands they’ll use for our bubble send off.

We’re sticking with favors since we have a lot of old school family attending. We’re doing mini wine bottles. At least if they get left others can take or we can! Those won’t go to waste! You can get a pack of 4 for around $5.49 which is about $1.30 a favor!

I don’t think favors are necessary. We are going to make a donation to one of our favorite charities in lieu of giving out favors and will have a sign at the wedding stating that in lieu of party favors the bride and groom made a donation to XX charity on behalf of their friends and family. I’ve seen this done at a few weddings and thought it was really cool.

Agree with the others. If you have your heart set on them, but don't want to spend too much, go with something edible. You could even tie a tag on them with your names and wedding date if you want to make it extra special! If you don't particularly care for them, totally ok to cut out. I have two cousins on my mom's side and one of them did not do favors, while the other sister had them at her wedding a few years later. They definitely don't make or break the whole wedding experience.

We are doing beer glasses with our names and date printed on them as favors. We got excited about the idea because it perfectly speaks to one of our hobbies: visiting breweries!
