2022 Brides what is your thought on Favors?

I have a lot of people telling me not to worry about favors. I also saw a couple of tiktoks with past brides saying their guest did not care about the favors! I am sooo torn, not knowing if I should spend the money on it or not. Let me know your thoughts? I need some advise.

My sister in law did candles and since I'm a big candle person I took some extras that guests didn't take. 🙈 I think it's true that unless it makes sense for your guests, they go un-claimed. We'll just be doing out of town bags. 😊

We're doing edible favors as well. The town I grew up in is the US home for a major chocolate company, so my fiancé and I are picking 10 flavors (5 per person, with a couple getting the full 10 flavors) of the truffles to give as favors. This way it brings a little bit of where I came from, into our wedding (which is no where near where I grew up).

Favors to me are always kind of a weird thing. When my brother got married they gave out sets of coasters. Why? I don't know. Wasn't really themed around anything, but its what they did. I don't know a single family member who used them.

We figure at least with chocolate it'll be eaten! That was the favor at a wedding I went to last summer - fancy chocolates. My friend and I ate them as we walked back to my hotel room to change for the after party!

I have been going back and forth with that too. We discussed how we have taken all of the favors to be polite, however, we have never really kept any. I have thought about edible favors or something like packs of seeds. Though it all comes down to what you want to do in the end.

We are either doing personalized cookies (one each) or these vintage-inspired bottle openers (one per couple). 2022 Brides what is your thought on Favors? 1

We personally are instead of investing in favors we got little activities for the tables. for example kids will get a cute wedding theme coloring book with some crayons ($10) , and we’ll also have a little back of rocks with X O to play tic tac toe with ($15)! they will find more enjoyment in these cheap activities rather than spending $$ - $$$ to have your names and wedding date placed on really anything Smiley sad BUT like anyone will tell you, this is your day and you do what you feel is best! some people do enjoy them, it’s all about who your guests are, are they sentimental or do they have their party pants on and will they forget about your favors?!

Most of our guests are coming from far away, so we’re thinking of putting together a ‘hotel bag’ with waters, snacks, advil, etc. I don’t think all of our guests will be staying at the hotel where we have a block, so we’ll probably have to give the bags out at the wedding, but it’ll be nice for them to not have to buy from the snack bar in the room

We are skipping the favors, but we are doing a photo booth so people are still leaving with a souvenir.

Hi there!! If many of your guests are coming from out of town, you could offer welcome bags in place of favors. If you decide on favors, maybe something edible like your favorite seasoning, coffee beans, chocolates, mini bottles, etc.

If it's a budget thing - absolutely leave them out, I think it's a waste of money. The money could go somewhere much more useful. If you HAVE the budget, absolutely make it something edible. Me as a guest - I've never cared about a wedding favor I couldn't eat. What am I gonna do with this thing that has someone else's name on it? That's just my opinion.

Exactly, Traditionally Favors are a must but in this day an age I don't think its needed. As people have mentioned Photo booths are some what favors as the guest do leave with a snap or two, an edible cookie or chocolate will be cute, Also a great idea to leave goodie bags in the hotel room, I've even thought about a food truck with personalized chip bags. Either way I think I am going to cut out the traditionally favors and invest that money towards something our guest will most likely use.

Perhaps like me, you may consider: a usb drive of you and hubby's favorite music, or a small frame for the photo taken in the photobooth at the wedding (if you have one); flip flops for the ladies when they want to take shoes off and handkerchiefs for men, etc... possible "useful" things like that maybe...

So I would like to know where this tradition began…. And talk to them. Haha because dang.. weddings are so expensive already!
But for the brides that are on a budget but still want to do something! Key bottle openers from Amazon! So cute, simple, and budget friendly!!

We’re doing them, but I did DIY ones so they weren’t expensive. And I agree with everyone, edible is the way to go! We’ve got a beach theme so I got a few massive boxes of those chocolate seashells from Costco and will be putting a few chocolates for each guest in small plastic treat bags from Hobby Lobby with ribbon and little tags I’m printing myself.
