2022 Brides what is your thought on Favors?

Stacy, on February 3, 2022 at 9:28 AM Posted in Planning 7 118

I have a lot of people telling me not to worry about favors. I also saw a couple of tiktoks with past brides saying their guest did not care about the favors! I am sooo torn, not knowing if I should spend the money on it or not. Let me know your thoughts? I need some advise.

If you want to save money then you can definitely skip them! Lots of people don't end up taking them and they can definitely be a waste. Instead of doing favors, we put that money towards a late night popcorn bar for our guests so they can take a bag with them when they leave.

Edible favors, yes. (The last wedding I went to gave us donuts to take home at the end of the night.) Other favors are highly likely to get left behind.

If you have your heart set on doing favors, I would either do edible favors or something that you wouldn't mind having lots of leftovers of, just in case. Otherwise, I would skip them. Guests sometimes leave them behind, and cutting them out is a great way to save money.

We are doing a sweets table as our favors. With some customized candy bars and water bottles which we don't mind if they are leftovers because we plan to give them to people who aren't able to attend.

Skip them. No one will care except you. If you still feel inclined, make it something edible.

I say skip them and put the money else where. You can you what Jessi, Keyra and Jasmine did and put it told more food (food is always a good option).

We're skipping them, and just putting that money into the rest of the experience (more food/drink options), we've got a photo booth lined up and they'll get copies of their photos too which is also technically a favor.

I don't think favors are a necessity at all and I personally don't care if I recieve one. That being said, I did small craft ones myself mainly to be cute and decorate the tables. So it's really up to you I'd say...don't feel bad about doing them or not doing them.

We decided to forego favors and do a farewell station like others have mentioned. Since our wedding is in the fall, our venue recommended a "fall" themed table with apple cider donuts, popcorn, hot pretzels, apple cider and hot chocolate. I feel like guests appreciate the edible route more than anything. Who doesn't love late night munchies after a full night of partying?

Personally as a guest I really like favors! We got some nice mugs at one wedding last year, the other three had no favors. No favors certainly doesn’t make me think badly of the couple, but I’m just saying I love to receive them. I think the others’ advice is good - make them edible, and something you don’t mind having lots of if people don’t end up taking them all. For my wedding I will probably bake and package up large cookies as favors, or get little jars of honey.

I thought about doing them but I was told by a wedding planner not to do them. She said that the guest are coming to party for free, free drinks and food. Most probably won't bring a gift so why give them one on top of what their already getting.

Another cute idea, definitely leaning more toward a piece of candy or maybe even a food truck or some kind

Cupcakes, candy bags, and cookies are all popular choices! You could even get custom M&Ms with you and your fiancé's initials and faces printed on them.

We decided to do to go bags with some late night snacks instead. We are in Philadelphia so the bags will have Philly specific snacks like soft pretzels.
