2021 weddings

Just checking in with the wedding world, I postponed earlier when all this started and wondering how people are feeling about next years weddings?

I think my fiancé are leaning towards a micro/smaller backyard wedding. Just curious where everyone’s at?

I guess I'd say... Hopeful, but not holding my breathe? It depends on the time on year, too. We moved from 11/14/20 to 12/4/21 so I'm hoping we reach since version of normal by then.. It's over a year away..

We're February and we're just gonna keep pushing forward unless forced to do otherwise. If we're forced to postpone, we will honor our date and elope and then have the big wedding whenever our new date would be, granted not much changes financially.

My FH and I are honestly on the same boat. At this point so much of our amount has gone into the venue alone it just didn't seam right to settle for less than 50% of our guests to be there let alone the safety of everyone is important to us 😭 still remaining hopeful 🙏

Exactly!! Cause it's not like they'll give is any of the money back if you paid for more guests than the amount that actually shows up or is allowed. I guess we'll see what happens.

We postponed from November 2020 to November 2021. I’m remaining hopefully optimistic that in a year this mess will be over, or at least drastically better (ie, a vaccine, an effective treatment, etc.). We have planned a destination wedding in a high tourist area, so it makes it even more tricky with everyone having to travel to a place with people from all over the U.S. By that time our engagement will have been 3 years long, so if it’s not better we will likely just cancel the wedding and take the financial hit. 😭I couldn’t imagine rescheduling AGAIN.

I'd like to think things will be back to normal, and I think they will be better, but it's hard to see anything being able to safely have a large pre-covid style wedding anytime soon (although my sense of time is definitely kind of warped at this point).
We only postponed the reception, so it's easier for me to imagine postponing again, but if you think you'd be happy with a micro/small backyard wedding, I think you should do it. We had ours last week and it was perfect!

My wedding is in March and i am waiting until January/February to make a decision. Who knows what will happen with COVID, I just really hope that everything can go as planned.

My wedding is August 2021 and I'm remaining hopeful that next year will be better. We cut our guest list from 150 to 50 so it will be safer and more manageable regardless of the situation.

My fiance and I postponed from July 2020 to July 2022 due to limited venue availability for 2021. We are hoping things will be better next year! At the very least, people should be more adjusted to a new normal by then. Hoping for the best!

We postponed from October 2020 to October 2021. I go through phases. One day I am positive and the next day I’m a mess. It’s defintely been a roller coaster. I am hopeful that we postponed far enough out where the world will look better, although I do think Covid will still be around. As long as I can dance and have more than 50 people (we both have big Italian families), I will be okay. At the end of the day I’m trying to just accept what I cannot change and hope for the best. Nomatter what, we will NOT be postponing again and I will be wearing my dress on 10/14/21 at my venue with whatever the works looks like.

We are November 2021 and moving forward as if everything will be normal. Our venue has actually encouraged us to do so, they reached out to do a fall tasting with them in September so we are going to do that. It’ll be nice to have some sense of normalcy I think. But I’m still a little worried. Who knows what’s going to happen by then, hopefully it’ll all be cleared up. We’ve decided that no matter what, we are getting married on our date.

We are doing a microwedding on July 1, 2021. We are having the ceremony out in the mountains at sunrise, and then having a private chef breakfast/brunch at home afterwards.

Probably how everyone is feeling has much to do with location. I live in Wisconsin and cases are rising but there aren’t restrictions in a lot of the state so weddings are able to go on somewhat “normal”. But I’m from MA and we’re getting married in October 2021 in Plymouth and right now the restrictions are very strict for weddings. Indoors only 25 people max and no dance floors allowed. The governor stated these restrictions will be in place until an effective treatment or vaccine is available. It has me very stressed to the point where wedding planning isn’t fun and I feel this supposed to be exciting experience has been taken from me ☹️ We decided to just get married this year and do a minimony and with the big wedding next year as planned and it feels like a weight has been lifted and I’m excited again.
